They won in Russia back in 1917. It comes about once a century.

A lot of people don't remember Germany's 1917 win against Russia because Der Mannschaft choked and didn't go on to take the world championship that season.

Mannschaft didn't choke. Much more complex than that... but if we want to use football terms it was a draw
