pork bad or good?

No need to be a moslem or jew to avoid pork.
Here are some scientific facts you should consider:

- pigs eat literally everything - piss, shit, cancerous matter, maggots - you name it
- pigs digest everything in approx. 4h and they have only one stomach
- pigs have no sweat glands(perspiratory gland), only some on the button nose :) this is why pigs are very sensible to heat and are cooling them self down in mud and so on

Cows and sheeps for example are vegetarians, the food goes trough 4 stomachs and it takes up to 24h until it is digested
enough time to sweat out and extract at least some of toxins

So even if pigs are fed no shit (what you honestly can not control) they have not enough time to extract the toxins, all this crap is sedimented in the lard and organs
No rocket science, innit?

Wait until we get lab grown meat 'made in China'.

What about chickens........

Cows and sheep only sweat through their nose too....

Cows and sheep will roll in mud to cool themselves down.......

You can feed animal protein to cows and sheep where do you think we got the issue with mad cows disease from!!

Chickens will do everything that a pig will do.....and they don't sweat and have a faster metabolic rate....what is your point......

there is no point, if you take it this way everything is shit
just damage control and avoidance of worse choice from them all bad choices
vegan or vegetarian excludes them all but is a tough cookie to chew when everyone around gives zero fucks

What a load of nonsense.

Whether pigs eat maggots or not would make no difference anyway - they're perfectly decent protein. Plenty of human cultures eat insect larvae. As for "cancerous matter" - lets imagine they ate some cancerous flesh for some bizarre reason - you really think that's going to come out in the meat? You can't catch cancer like that.
Pigs in farms mostly eat pig food. Free range ones supplement it with stuff they can root out from the ground. Same as chickens.
Sheep and cows will happily eat grass with shit on it too, and that doesn't matter either.

The relative speed of digestion is not relevant at all in terms of the supposed "toxins" The reason cows take so long is because the bacteria in their gut have to break down cellulose. It doesn't magically remove toxins. If a cow eats grass contaminated with say heavy metals, they get contaminated too. Same as pigs.
Your 4 hours figure is made up bullshit. "Feed stays in the stomach for 0-6 hours or even longer in adult pigs." Source: http://vsp.lf.dk/~/media/Files/Laerebog_fysiologi/Chapter 5.pdf - that's just in the stomach, not even accounting for the small and large intestimes.

Pigs do sweat so that's just not true. They might not sweat as much as humans but they still sweat. And it's not like sweat is a main way of getting rid of "toxins"in humans or pigs that's what your liver is for.

So it might not be rocket science but it is science and you clearly haven't bothered to check your supposedly scientific facts. You've just parroted the the Islamic nonsense from this guys post that has made it's way around the net

I can understand that English maybe a second language to you but you make no sense.

Stop talking about intensive farming, if you are sourcing your meat from farms like that, then you get what you pay for.........

It does not matter if it's, Lamb, cow, pig or chicken, it's all going to be crap and low grade.....funny how you just pick on pigs.....

Religious agenda maybe??

The idea that eating vegetables avoids risk is a laughable. Soils around the world are contaminated with heavy metals etc. Vegetables have these "toxins" in them too.

They are also commonly contaminated with pathogens. From the CDC - https://www.cdc.gov/foodborneburden/attribution-1998-2008.html

"Produce (a combination of six plant food categories [Fruits-Nuts, Fungi vegetables, Leafy vegetables, Root vegetables, Sprout vegetables, Vine-Stalk vegetables]) accounted for nearly half of illnesses (46%). Figure E provides examples of foods in these groups.

  • Among the individual food categories, leafy vegetables accounted for the most illnesses. Many of those illnesses (46%) were caused by norovirus.
Figure D
Groups of 17 Food Commodities (Categories) Used in Outbreak Analysis[1 page]

Meat and poultry (a combination of four animal food categories[Beef, Game, Pork, and Poultry) accounted for fewer illnesses, but for 29% of deaths. Figure E provides examples of foods in these groups.

  • Poultry accounted for the most deaths (19%); many of those were caused by Listeria and Salmonella infections.
  • This is partly due to three large Listeria outbreaks linked to sliced processed turkey that occurred in the last decade, though fewer have occurred in recent years.

They are also sprayed with pesticides and insecticides. We hope the amount left on them, by the time we get them, is too low to cause problems. But in terms of finding toxins in foods, vegetables are right up there with pork, or any other meat.

Nothing is perfect in this world. A lot of food is contaminated to some degree - mostly to a degree not worth worrying about. Source your food as best you can and prepare it as advised. And then relax. Chances are it won't be a toxic pork chop that kills you but rather being obese from eating too much in general.
