Hi guys, apologies for another McGregor thread, when theres already a handful on the first page itself. What prompted me to create this thread is the general difference in opinion i notice whenever there is a Conor thread. No denying that he is the most polarizing figure we have seen in MMA. The general set of opinions i observe are -
- We are moving to an era of money fights due to McGregor, wherein deserving contenders do not get a fair shot. This hurts the legitimacy of the sport in the long run.
- However, at the same time, these money fights create the most amount of buzz, along with the antics at the weigh-ins, press conferences etc, and draw more casual eyes to the fights. And when you deliver an epic fight after all the buildup like McGregor-Nate II was, it delivers on the hype and the casuals are likely to stick around, making the sport's following bigger.
So what do you feel, is it good or bad for the SPORT (not the UFC) in the LONG RUN?
