Poliquin on Fish Oils and my own Personal Experience

Biotest's Flameout seems really awesome from reading that t-nation article (http://www.t-nation.com/readTopic.do?id=910074). Any of the more qualified posters care to comment on it's relation to something along the lines of what STWACOACH uses (http://customnutritionwarehouse.com/fish-complex-p-177.html) or the Ascenta (http://www.supplementscanada.com/popeyes/product520.html)? Does anyone here use it? I'm considering picking some up today, so any help would be appreciated.

I'm looking for an excuse to go to the vitamin store, the girl that works there is about an 8.

It's all pretty much the same stuff, just different EPA/DHA content. Flameout is a more concentrated EFA product with added CLA, that's all, it's not some magical formula. You could just take larger servings of a standard fish oil product to accomplish the same thing.

The Ascenta is straight oil so you're getting more DHA/EPA per serving.

It's expensive fish oil lol. CLA has to be taken in a MUCH larger amount than what they include to be effective for anything.

I ended up picking this up, it seems really good-

http://www.drugstore.com/qxp83218_3..._epa_fish_oil_dietary_supplement_softgels.htm

For those who don;t care enough to click the link, its:

1 Softgel- 1200mg
550mg EPA
215mg DHA

$20 for 60 softgels, which is kinda expensive. Im just gonna order the 1000ct that STWACOACH recommended.

Also, how should I spread out the daily consumption, should I try to incorporate it into my protein/fat meals or should I take it with my morning oats?

I take 28-36 grams of fish oil per day. Not sure if it's improved my mood but I'd like to think so.

Wow man. That is quite a lot of fish oil. I've been taking 6-8 (capsules that is) lately and it has worked fine for me.

That dependes. Do you enjoy going down on your girlfriend after a sweaty workout? Then you may enjoy the liquid form ;)

made me laugh.

quick question, flax oil vs fish oil:

they both have omgea-3s. does flax oil have DHA and EPAs too? what is the difference?

Yeah, I'm not necessarily recommending my dosage to others.:icon_chee
I usually take 6 caps with every P+F meal (4 a day) and 2 caps with every P+C meals (2 a day.) If I end up with heart disease, chronic inflammation or mental illness in ten years then we'll know FOR SURE that the stuff doesn't work. :icon_twis

LOL!

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I was wondering what brand of fish oil is best or would recommend to a first time user?

I got some caps for cheap that are 180/120. I am thinking about eating 6 caps per day but am not sure... How many caps would you guys take per day?
