why? aside from a crack whore with 1 year MMA experience who has valentina actually finished?

you have to go back to 2014 to even find a KO on her record.
She finished Pena

She has fought elite strikers for YEARS in Muay Thai and MMA. She fought Joanna 3 times in Muay Thai and beat her there all three times,

lol, how many fights had Joanna had when she fought Val?????

go look up the actual facts before looking dumb. Val had had multiple MT fights as a pro, Joanna faced her in like her first proper match.

Well this shouldn’t even count as a title fight. This girl has no experience and won a tournament full of nobodies to win the belt. .

Um, she beat the girls ranked #2, #3 and #4 in the world at flyweight...

I can't wait for this whole Valentina cult bullshit to go up in smoke. You people weird me the fuck out!

Montano TKO 2 (elbows)

Exactly.

Shcevchenko is most likely going to win, but I'd be shocked if it was anything other than by a point striking contest

I have no interest in seeing Valentina killing Nicco

Valentina is so overhyped and self-entitled and her fans are even worse.

Shes done fuck all.

She is a multiple MT champion.. who gives a fuck, so is Joanna Calderwood..

She beat Joanna in MT three times.. when Joanna was a total noob with no fights behind her and Val was already a pro

She hasnt KO'd anyone in 4 years

it took her two rounds to finish a girl with ONE YEARS MMA EXPERIENCE who tore her ACL in the very first minute.. think about that, it took her TEN MINUTES TO BASICALLY FINISH SOMEONE WHO WALKED IN OFF THE STREET AND WAS INJURED

Her biggest claim to fame in MMA is that she lost to Amanda Nunes

Classic example of sherdog over-hyping someone completely because they are blonde and hot(ish)

Edit - The below post is incorrect, I was operating under the impression that TUF was still filmed live and have since written a more accurate post here:
Presuming that the fights took place between June and July: Murphy was still a #19 Bantamweight, Honchak was as retired as anyone could be given she took 3 years off (which hardly makes your quotes for "retired" justified), and Modafferi was indeed #2.

I'll keep the original post otherwise intact ;).

No, she did not.

Their world rankings at the time of their fights against Montano:
#19 BW - Lauren Murphy
#47 FLW - Montana De La Rosa
#8 FLW - Barb Honchak
#5 FLW - Roxanne Modafferi

Also keep in mind, all of these fights took place over 73 days, so who knows how that may have affected the fighters' performance with that much damage/weight cuts from so many fights.

And these were the world rankings after Montano won the "title" and Shevchenko made her debut:

Sherdog's Rankings for Women's Flyweight (Feb 26, 2018):
1. Jennifer Maia
2. Valentina Shevchenko
3. Aga Niedzwiedz
4. Vanessa Porto
5. Ilima-Lei Macfarlane
6. Ariane Lipski
7. Nicco Montano
8. Roxanne Modafferi
9. Rin Nakai
10. Sarah D'Alelio

sherdog rankings...

lol.....

ps. tuf was recorded in teh summer.

while the show was going on Roxy was #2

Barb was removed from teh rankings because she "retired" but she was still the last invicta champ and most commentators knowledgeable about wmma had her ranked at #2 or #3

NOt quite sure why you are using rankings from 6 months after Tuf was recorded to argue your point. presumebly because the actual rankings dont back up your argument.

So yes, going into the show Barb and Roxy were ranked #2 and #3 at flyweight.

the only thing i got wrong was 4th.. i was getting rankings and seeds muddled up (Lauren Murphy was seeded 4th)

riiiiiggghhhhhttttttt

so that many fights in 73 days may have affected Roxy and Barb but it didnt effect Nicco (who is bigger than both of them)....

But you carry on, use rankings from after the show and whatever other flawed arguments to support your argument...

we get it.. Valentina is the greatest fighter in the world..

despite never having done anything..

Its fine, all you people spewing bollocks that Val is some sort of Killer and is going to destroy Nicco in one round are gonna look really dumb and have a lot of backtracking to do when the best she can manage is a pitter patter points victory against a girl with 6 pro fights..

Yep you can pick and chose what ever numbers you like from what ever source you like, but the truth is Nicco has wins over the 4, 7, 9 and 14 in the current UFC rankings and Val just has the loss against the current number 5.

Means nothing, let's see what happens at 228

She has done nothing? Really? She's a 5'5 FLW who beat Holly Hom 49-46 on the feet, subbed Juliana Peña and arguably beat Nunes in their dull championship fight. All of Amanda's other title fights were beatdowns (Tate, Rousey, Pennington). Val was a top 2 BW without cutting weight. That's hugely impressive P4P and she is rightly considered the best WMMA FLW by most fans and pundits. Your opinion is ludicrous.

Holly who apart from the one fight against Ronda has looked shit

And she didnt beat Nunes

I will give you the Pena sub though..

BUT the debate isnt if she is or should be the #1 ranked flyweight, its peoples obsession that she is going to kill Nicco in the cage and will basically beat every other 125'er into a pulp.

There is nothing at all in her history to suggest that is going to happen except for a beatdown on a girl with 1 years experience and a torn acl.

Val is not this unstoppable killer that people keep on making her out to be.

And 99% of them are putting out that narrative based on only actually seeing her fight once in a fight that should never even have been sanctioned (and most people who knew anything about wmma said beforehand that it should not have been sanctioned)

She's no finishing machine but her accomplishments and skills deserve more respect than you are willing to give her.
