Duh! No shit. Floyds nickname afterall is "money" conors new name should be, conor "cash" mcgregor.....

This fight will have more historical significance than people give it credit for.

When it's all set and done, and people are analyzing this era of combat sports fifty years from now, it's entirely possible that Mayweather will be considered the best lightweight boxer of this generation, McGregor will be considered the best lightweight MMA fighter of this generation, and with this short crossover with Mayweather's career concluding and McGregor's just taking off, people would've wondered what would've happened if these two fought (more so in boxing, because McGregor is more of a boxer than Mayweather is a martial artist), and it would've been the biggest dream fight that never happened.

Except, this will happen.

To RTL

Conor has only beaten Eddie at LW. To be the best ever at lightweight he is going to have to beat all of the top guys and own the division for years. I don't see that happening.

Also Floyd hasn't fought at LW in 12 years

Conor isn't even the best featherweight of this generation.

If Floyd wanted to maximize his gains, he should have met Conor half way and met him in a kickboxing match. Intrigue would be way higher because then Conor would have more of a chance. Honestly, it would have been a good negotiating tactic for Conor. Woulda showed how Floyd would be scared of a "real" fight.

It would have been a terrible negotiating tactic for Conor as Floyd would have laughed at it and then walked away.

Some MMA fans are just embarrassing with this "real fight" shit

THIS

It's hard to believe that people are THAT stupid.

MMA is absolutely NOT a "real fight".

MMA is MMA.

Money wont risk hurting his brand/legacy by giving conor even a slight chance of winning. He will make plenty of money just the way it is, and it will be easy money.

Do you imagine that Floyd reached out to fight Conor? Nope, Conor challenged Floyd to a boxing match. By even allowing Conor in the ring with him, Floyd is doing Conor a huge favour.

"Maximized his Gains", eh?

This fight does NOTHING for Floyd's legacy.
If anything, it looks poor on him, getting to 50-0 on the back of this mma kid.

The ONLY gains Floyd is getting out of this are monetary, and believe you me, he maximized the shit out of that. If you imagine that Floyd settled for anything near a 50/50 split, you're out of your mind.

I don't know the exact split, but you can rest assured that Conor/The UFC got bent over on this deal.

Does nothing to his legacy unless he loses.....
