Ido Portal stealing some moves once again....

Erickson fought cans while Conor has fought top competition. Rickson is a myth while Conor is real.

Without the Gracies there would be no Conor and no UFC. Rickson is widely considered the greatest BJJ fighter ever. Pretty much every elite grappler who has trained with him says he is the greatest ever. He might not have been a complete MMA fighter like now we have, but without him there would have been no Pride FC and without his brothers there would have been no UFC. He is certainly a lot more important in the history of the sport than Conor. Respect where its due. And at the end of the day, it's Conor stealing something from Rickson, and not the other way around. So go figure who is real and who is not.

Also, Rickson is one of the few that actually experienced real fighting. He grew up having illegal fights on the street where pretty much anything goes. Conor fights in a sport heavily controlled by rules. Rickson didn't.

He's training for a different sport. Would you try to justify it if Conor warmed up this way?

Oh so you think Rickson Gracie's training is a typical training for BJJ? He was using strike as well

The noodle arm thing isn't even the stupidest looking thing Conor does in training. Not even close actually.

That would be a problem, how exactly?
What value would the time you put into touching your head to the back of your knee be in comparison to doing actual boxing exercises and training?

Because it warms you up and increases your flexibility? How is this hard to understand?

You didn't answer the question. What value would the time spent stretching until you could touch your head to the back of your knee be in comparison to spending that time doing actual boxing exercises and training?

Increased flexibilty increases your potential punching power, speed (POTENTIALLY). There's only so much time that can be spend doing physical exercise until it becomes detrimental.

Right. So how much time do you think it would take Conor to be able to touch his head to the back of his knee, and do you think that there are better uses for his training time?

How would it cut into his training time though? You can train flexibility any fucking time. And not as much as youd think when youre used to training flexibility, you just have to keep going.

Rickson is on another level, he's 400-0!!! But yeah he's pretty funny, watched some interviews in portuguese back in the days when pride was still around, the gracies were always narcisistic divas but that guy took it to a whole new level, he and royce always went on about how they could defeat fedor crocop minotauro and bob sapp together in a handicap match and how they were the best paid fighters in the world. I think even Helio made fun of RIckson's self plocaimed 400 undefeated record.

Personally, I think Rickson used it for limbering up and as sort of a chi movement, than something that was really applicable in a technical way. It probably helped focus his mind and create flow.

You've also seen Rickson do breathing movements that wasn't directly applicable during a fight, but had a lot to do with body control, focus and connecting with perhaps inner energy.

There's a good chance McGregor was into this type of inner connection and I don't think it should be taken as some sort of flawed, technical fight preparation.
