Overwatch Official Discussion, v3: I'm a Bastion Main, Brah.

Such a fun, balanced character.
 
The buff to Bastion makes more sense now with the new tank being introduced. I played a couple games last night where a team ran Orisa and Rein, and it was taking forever to burn through their shields. Swapped to Bastion and blew through their front line immediately. I really hope the meta doesn't become Shield/Bastion wars though, because it's a boring playstyle.

His additional armor in Sentry and Tank form has been reduced on PTR from 35% to 20%. While that makes Bastion easier to kill, it doesn't change the fact that the hard counter to Rein + Orisa is Bastion.
 
Crawled into Platinum last night and I actually gotta thank the Bastion meta for that. At Gold, players usually lack the coordination and communication to make him work, so a lot of my progress came from smashing out-of-position and unsupported Bastions. But when I faced a Bastion that was properly supported, I took my one loss of the night.

Took a peek at my masteroverwatch stats and my Zenyatta is currently #2 in K/D and killstreaks. Quite pleased with myself, but I recognize that it's an inflated number due to playing mostly in Gold. I'll surely see a sharp decline as I try to grind to Diamond.

Blizzard cant, for they introduced a new character with a deployable shield on top of the existing Rein and Zarya shields. Limit his DPS an no other DPS can adequately deal with that amount of shielding creating a perpetual stalemate.

Osiris and Rein will be frontline with Bastion. Zarya at medium range to support Rein and Bastion. Ana to heal from range. McCree to DPS near Ana while protecting the flank. In close quarter maps expect Roadhog to replace McCree and Mercy to replace Ana.
 
Had the worst placement matches ever and got put in silver, holy crap this is bad
 
who knew they could fuck the game up even worse than with the tank meta

So I went 7-2-1 in my placement matches totally solo queue and I got a ranking of 1618? Dafuq?

haha I went 3-5-2 and was just under that 1565ish, i'm 1468 now after the worst luck today.

Not sure about csgo i haven't played it since overwatch came out.

Mostly play support probably then DPS
 
Anyone playing Overwatch exclusively? All my other games have been completely shelved and i can say with certainty that that's going to be the case for quite a bit of time.

With the large number of heroes it's difficult to get bored as easily as other MP's.

Aside from a bit of Hearthstone on mobile, yup, this is my one and only. The only upcoming title that's gonna chip into this is Tekken 7.

I've definitely burned out a bit on Overwatch. If you're playing Comp, that cast of 24 heroes is narrowed down to about 12. If you can't play offense characters well, that narrows your effective hero choice to around 6. I guess you can just play whatever hero you want, but I'm really competitive, and hate losing.

Anyways, my point is that playing the same 6 heroes in Comp over and over has definitely grown stale, even with the changing meta. I honestly have more fun just playing relaxed quick games now. Problem is that half of those quick games are complete shit-shows, with no semblance of team play.
 
Bastion meta is so lame. Honestly makes me not want to play Comp at all.

I haven't been. Quick play isn't any better mind you. I did my placements on Tuesday and then didn't play until I did two matches on Friday. I've just been going into custom games and been wall riding around to entertain myself when I get bored. It's nice to know that if you're getting run over on an Escort map, let's say Eichenwald, that all you have to do is pick Torb, Bastion, Symmetra, and Mercy and you can hold them. Left shift, left click play of the game brought to you by Bastion.

I also feel sorry for console people. Cannot believe they buffed Symmetras and Torbs turrets on console.
