That is one of the most bootleg groups on fb and that's saying a lot.
Fedor or Jones. I gave to to Fedor because I like him more.
Mighty Mouse won't get any consideration from me until he elects to get out of his comfort zone by fighting someone who might give him a fight - something he's not done since he went down to 125.
GSP and Aldo were both experts at keeping the fight where they wanted it to be, but that's not the same thing as being the most well-rounded.
Spider was probably the best standup fighter in MMA history and he got much better at jujitsu and wrestling defense when he went to the UFC, but he's not in this discussion.
That Fedor could stand with Crocop for the duration of their fight and win the standup battle says it all. The friendly Russian beat wrestlers on the ground and standup fighters on their feet.
Jon destroys any version of Fedor
Haha what do you mean by bootleg? Seems like there are a lot of strange posts/comments of that's what you mean.
Fedor was smooth as silk and lightning fast with both his striking and subs.
You forgot, Ko'd by Hendo and Subbed by Fabio
Tough pick between GSP and DJ, but I give the advantage to GSP. He started as a great striker and became possibly the best MMA grappler ever. DJ has a grappling background and became a great striker, but I don't think he's quite as good in both departments as GSP is.
Fedor.....Way better stand up than GSP.....Way better GnP than GSP....Way better submissions than GSP.
GSP better Lay n prayer than Fedor......That's pretty much it.
Jon Jones stand up is pretty good but he never had that one KO punch like Fedor did...Jones GnP was good but it didn't have Fedor's power....Jones subgame is good but not at Fedor's level IMO.
WTF does that have to do with the question?
Yeah, I feel like everyone's definition of well-rounded is good wrestling+good striking. IMO, well-rounded is being able to take control or finish a fight were ever it goes.
Aldo used elite striking, elite TDD, great clinchwork, solid TDs and top game.
Jones used elite TDD, elite clinchwork, good striking, great TDs and top game.
Although both rarely get takendown, when they do, they flail and fight hard to get back to their feet.
GSP used elite TDD, elite TDs, great striking, great top game, and good clinch work. But similarly, when put on his back he just looks to control posture and post so he can get back to his feet.
I'm not saying these skills and tactics aren't impressive. But I feel if your gameplan, when put into a position, is to avoid it, that's not well-rounded.
Fedor and Silva are the only ones listed that have shown the ability to take control of a fight from any position.
And yes, DJ is well-rounded.
You mentioned his victories against a great ground fighter and a great striker, but you don't count his losses to another great ground fighter and wrestler with a great right hand?
That kind of goes against him being well rounded don't you think?
It's DJ you absolute numptys
Would've voted Jones if he was clean.
That's an extremely simple minded way of thinking.
Is GSP not well rounded because he got subbed by a wrestler and knocked senseless by a BJJ fighter?
Is Aldo not well rounded because he got caught clean on the chin by McGregor and pieced up twice by Max in 2 fights he was up on scorecards in?
Is Frankie not well rounded because a BJJ guy knocked him out?
I can go on
Cro Cop gets knocked out on the feet often. Why is it impressive that Fedor and him fought some on the feet?
Its easily DJ.
Fedor in his prime was much more effective, IF you got him to his back, He could reverse with such ease it was silly, see the nog fight(s) and his armbars where lighting quick for a man his size. When on top he broke a lot of guys with his GNP. It was better than gsp' s best ground work.
The striking is self explanatory if you have followed both careers. But overall I have GSP as the GOAT.
At least try and hide your bias man. Fedor gets points for his takedowns but GSP, the best MMA wrestler in history, doesn't? Fedor gets points for his takedown defence, cardio, and intelligence but GSP doesn't?
C'mon. Just say you were looking to give points to Fedor but not to anybody else.
No, because none of those people are impressive wrestlers.
Fedor and gsp are both extremely well rounded. Gsp has wrestling Fedor has throws sambo. Fedor has more 1 punch KO power and subs off his back So I pick Fedor
I think KO power is a condition to be "Well rounded" so.. Fedor.
