I don't care about it and have never bet on sports but this has been discussed recently and some people are really into it including out resident glory shill @JimGunn

From what I can recall the biggest complain was that you can't bet online on muay thai fights but I just watched a video about muay thai betting from Yoksutai (it's in portuguese) and former nak muay Léo "Amendoim" Monteiro mentions this site muay999.net where you can bet online on muay thai against a "house" unlike the traditional one on one betting at the stadiums.

That's fascinating. I was able to kind of read the site with Google Translate. But I'd have to go deep down a rabbit hole to figure out how to actually make use of it. Would probably need some boots on the ground in Thailand or other workarounds. Not to mention that one would really have to be following the stadium scene closely to know who is who and what the matchups are like, not a really easy feat as a Westerner unless you put a hell of a lot of time into it. Thanks for posting.

How practical could it be though?

Particularly in regards to the fights in Thailand, which is probably only what most are interested in.

With Thailand's attitude to gambling, surely there would be a bit of animosity towards an initiative like this. It's not like it's very contained in the scene over there, but when you are commercialising the betting to an extent that there's a house, it becomes a whole different animal.

it would be dope if you could use the standard betting sites like bovada for stuff like glory, lion fight, etc.

Several major sportsbooks online offer Glory regularly nowadays including 5Dimes, and usually Bookmaker and Sportsbook too plus Unibet for the Europeans. Lion Fight very, very rarely, like only once a few years ago to my recollection.

thats awesome, i will definitely bet on glory fights now!

The risks are much bigger when you bet on glory, lion fight etc. Even if your guy wins you never know if he will get robbed or not. In thailand the judges are alot more consistent

Fights at the big stadiums are usually very closely matched, I think its harder to pick winners on a stadium card than a glory card even with the judging.

also I guess that a random foreigner amateur bettor will be in the biggest disadvantage posible against the "house" in muay thai betting as the house obviously has profesional inside information. they know how dedicated the fighters are in training, how much weight they're cutting, how they looked at weigh ins, personal info and on and on.

still, when you're closely following a sport and know things inside out eventually you may find attractive odds.

Y'all are just contributing to @JimGunn's gambling addiction. The man has already lost his house and family what more is left to take?

Does it signify I have a problem if I was actually looking into subscribing to the English language online broadcasts of the stadium fights and trying to figure out if I can set up an account at one of these Thai banks somehow to bet at this site in a language I can't even read? <45>
