Official Women's Division Discussion #25

Look on the bright side, 135 will be getting some much needed fighters out of this season, cause that's where half the fighters will end up.

If UFC is smart (and I'm really question their decision making lately), they'll make them sign contracts as 145lb fighters.

I still am not sure enough will show up to audition.

That's a very good possibility. Happened one year with 135lb fighters.

Apparently this lady got upset i didn't include her name at my "potential wFWs" list lol
Never saw her fights but most of them were at 140 and above, her record is 6-3.. so she should show up as well.

lol I was just about to post about Jessy Miele. I only know her because she fought Charmaine Tweet and Peggy Morgan. Lost both.

She's got a fight coming up against Elisabeth Philips at 145. I guess Phillips could show up as well.

I have never heard of her but if she lost to Peggy Morgan I can't say I have high hopes for her. Even Jessamyn Duke beat Peggy Morgan.

Well, she's able bodied and has a winning record so imo she's quite qualified for a season of 145ers

Yeah... Cindy Dandois is going to hurt these poor girls.

"Step right up ladies, step right up! Enter a house full of type a personalities for six weeks, fight your way through your housemates, and you, too, could win a chance to be the next can that gets crushed by Cyborg!!!"

What a joke.
But hey what self-respecting fighter would view themselves as a can to be crushed? :p

This guy is a idiot, he doesn't understand something very simple about pro fighters: they all believe they're the best, in their minds they're always ready to shock the world and kill the queen..

145 will be known as the Female Johny Hendricks division. But at least he dieted; most of these ladies I see are in the cage presumably at their walking weight and average body composition. Cyborg and Megan will dwarf them.

Also, unless it's Megan or Cyborg, 145 will be a prelim division.

For a while, yes, it will be a prelim division, but once it gets competitive and more fighters get experience, the spotlight will be there to the ones who actually evolves as fighters.. i don't understand why some of you are so immediatist with the 145 division.

Randa Markos vs. Nina Ansaroff also added to UFC Calgary. Will be an interesting one IMO.

145 could be alright if it was just in one company, either Invicta or Bellator.... The fact is that the talent is hard to find to begin with, then its split between Bellator, UFC, Invicta, ect..... So all the 145 divisions are watered down, the best 145lb fighter was signed to a company that had no other 145s on the roster.

There's more talent at 125, so its not as noticeable.... but shit gets barren at 145 pretty quick. If UFC gets serious about building the division it could pan out... it looks like they're committing to it finally.

Gotta love (well, not really) JMMA matchmaking. Forty one year old Satoka Shinashi (36-3-2) Will be taking on 19 year old Ye Jin Jung (0-2). These two first met way back in 2014, Three days before Jung's fifteenth birthday!

It's like porn. Match the fresh 18 yr old debutant with the 40 yr old actor to break her in.

Tough fight to bet on. One the one hand, Markos never wins two in a row, and she's coming off a win. On the other hand, the fight is in Canada, where Markos is undefeated. Either way, some kind of streak is gonna end.

Even if they were all under one banner, it'd still be an atrocious division.
