She's slow

Yeah. I've never thought of Jo Jo as especially quick.

She seems to do best in fights where she is allowed to methodically plod forward, using her reach and accuracy effectively.

IFC 22 has come and gone. No huge surprises but still some good fights. I feel for Hamasaki. Guess she got used to fighting AWs. That shot from Souza would've dropped anyone at 115. A brain shaker right between the eyes.

As most others seem to be, I was disappointed to see Kunitskaya go down. Then again, leading with slow kicks is pretty much asking to be taken down. I'm no expert, but isn't the idea to set up a kick with punches? Evinger didn't exactly impress. It wasn't the beat-down that she promised. Still, she was smart to grab the RNC when it was there. Who's next for her? Where does Kunitskaya go from here? Does she have the skill to compete in lower-level UFC?

I like the idea of Esquibel/Souza for a belt. Martin might be a force if she can sharpen her skills and technique (tough as nails and strong as heck.) Maybe Yu Frey and Cummins (who looked great at 105) can fight while Hamasaki's brain heals up.

Three fighters overweight. Maverick will wreck shop once she gets her weight cut figured out. Morandin wasn't even close *can't believe her doc was talking shit to Yu Frey for not taking the fight.* I want to paddle Bennett for her minor infraction :D

The ladies of Road FC all got together recently for a fan meet and greet. I think it was part of a contest held by Road before the recent XX event.

That stuff would have been low grade even for Dr. Nick Riviera. But at least Jinh didn't pull any punches telling him to go fuck himself, which was nice :)

For those who haven't seen it yet:

Her doctor is a moron if he believes dehydrating 14% of ones body weight in fluids to make 105 is a good idea. There's a reason her body stopped losing well before that goal.

Maverick will wreck shop once she gets her weight cut figured out.
Imo, a young fighter like her (who is likely still growing), should start fighting closer to her natural walking weight until they get their weight management down.

Yeah. I thought that Morandin looked way too big to make 105 (considering her listed height.) That attempted weight cut must've been brutal. Hope she didn't mess herself up in the process. I just assumed she'd made that weight in the past.

As for Maverick, I've wondered about that very thing (young fighters still growing/changing.) She certainly isn't one of those women who is naturally slender. Kind of like Dern. I look forward to seeing Maverick's future fights. She seems pretty motivated and determined.

There's going to be an announcement tonight. Hopefully that Megan is going to the UFC & taking the division with her. I think it's possible...why wouldn't they just say she's officially the undisputed champ already?

Hopefully the entire division goes away and is replaced by 125. When you pin your hopes on a long-time cheat and a woman with less than four years of experience and losses to women in the weight class below her, why bother?

Our (the contrarian hipsters') hopes are in Chick Kongo!

I hate Mike Englund.

Sexist. Brock recovered from Carwin, Englund was giving Hamasaki the same chance. How much damage can 115lb woman do.?

Agreed,I think she'd be a monster if she had a little more athleticism.

Anybody know who got the bonuses for Invicta 22? There were so many awesome fights, I couldn't decide.

Hell, the first fight with the new big girls was awesome, spinning shit and everything.

I was disappointed in the Hamasaki fight. She has had such a dominant career, I wanted her to get her chance in the UFC. Her only losses are to curiously strong Brazilians. No shame in that.

I was cheering for the Russian MILF in the headliner. I thought she was cheated out of a belt in the first fight and she's been training a Jackson's. I've been a fan of Evinger in the past, but lately she's been just annoying me, so I've moved more into the @leto1776 and Sean Shelby camp of watching to see her lose.

Only 3 more weeks until Michelle Waterson becomes the next contender for the UFC Strawweight belt.
Glad to see her teammate win in a FOTN contender. Esquibel is a hell of a fighter.

Can't argue with that! I was very impressed with the tenacity of David's Daughter. I'm sure David is very proud.

He would probably be even more proud if she develops a jab. But she is new, so that should come in time. Really, it should come earlier, but hopefully it develops. It was a good fight, good card overall. Not happy with main event result at all.
