Goddamn, just love watching his grappling game.
Dat nogi catch-as-catch-can at work
As long as he doesn't hit the face, it should be legal.
Baseball slide kick to the body FTW
More importantly for a submission guy like Sak, it could open the door for a grappling scramble immediately after the kick. Saku always found himself standing over a Brazilian who was on his butt in this "technical standup" position. They were high level BJJ guys, so they defended very well from these positions. It was hard to get past their open guard so Sak loved to create chaos, like kicking the legs, the jumping stomps, the baseball slide, the cartwheel guard pass, etc.

Sak attempting an armbar on Vernon White
After a 90 minute fight with Royce Gracie earlier in the night, Sak advances to the Grand Prix Semifinal where he attempts an armbar on Igor Vovchanchyn, who was on a 38 fight unbeaten streak.
I would support him with a donation (which I sincerely hope he doesnt need) in a heartbeat.
subscribed Saku is da GOAT
I'm not aware of his financial situation, but it would be an unforgivable sin for Japan if a national treasure like Saku was not properly compensated.
Saku legit wants to die fighting
Sakuraba staying at Welterweight (back then 185) would be talked about as the undisputed and forever greatest WW/MW of all time. That he defeated monsters like Randleman and Rampage is out of this world.
To this day its mind blowing how Pride sometimes matched him up. It often looked like an attempt to kill him.
He belongs into the hall of fame for the best of the best martial artists like Manny P. , Peter Aerts, Samart Payakaroon, Fedor..etc
