That's great. I don't know why anybody would not have a positive reaction to this. NYC has over 8.5 million people, more than ever. This is definitely something worthy of kudos.

For its massive population, New York City actually has a shockingly small amount of violent crime when compared to the other top 10 cities in the US. Whatever the reason(s), they're indeed doing a good job there

New York City's overall crime rate has been declining for 27 consecutive years now. Like to levels not seen since the 1950s. When you take further consideration into the whole 'firearms factor', it's absolutely unreal and something to be enthusiastically celebrated considering its place in the world as an alpha++ global city. NYC's homicide rate has plunged by 87% since 1990 and that's no typo.
 
A Shooting that has not been reported. Perhaps the bangers/cholos/mustache Petes are just keeping a tighter lid, and cleaning up their mess better afterwards.

Still, kudos to Trump for solving America's gun violence problem is just 2 years.
