If you look at the choke right before the stoppage it wasn't cutting off the right side of his neck, but more against his jaw. He even pointed to his jaw once the ref stopped the fight when he was protesting to the ref.

It takes a long time to go out when only one side of the neck is shut off.

If he didn't go out soon Lee would of let up a little eventually, because it takes a lot of energy to apply the joke continually, and he could of wormed out, maybe.

Similar to what happened in the felice fight, looks over but she got out eventually, and could of happened here, but we will never know.

Terrible stoppage.

submissions are a matter of millimeters and degrees of angles. Nobody, from any angle, can spot for sure that they are 'locked definitely'

Especially for a choke, there is not a need to stop before a tap or unconsciousness.

Watch it again. The problem is that Chiesa stops fighting the hands with 27 seconds left and each hand is just kinda up in the air. Without either hand on the choke and not doing anything to defend it really is hard to defend Chiesa.

That said, I would have let it go another second or two.

Can't disagree more, its not our place to decide "oh well he would gave lost anyway" thats bullshit. No one can predict the future. It doesn't matter how closer he was to finishing, the ref fucked up and it should be a no contest
