TS, it would be crazy to fight JDS on a week's notice when you were preparing for someone totally different. Especially for a guy of Werdum's level.

You have a point with the Conor mention tho, considering these were similar circumstances to the RDA pullout, Conor lost and then people couldn't stop talking about how much he sucked. It's a crazy move to take a high level fight on super short notice. Almost no one does it and it's silly to mock Werdum for it. If the roles were reversed, JDS would not accept this fight.

Well, if he feels he needs to train specifically for Dos Santos, he's probably not going to feel confident going in to the fight on short notice.

But when he was due to fight Velasquez for the belt - that got scrapped - and Miocic was the replacement, he cited a long standing injury as his reason for pulling out, which seemed a bit strange.

I wonder if Werdum feels because of their first fight, he has Velasquez's number. I'd see it being completely different than the first fight - especially on the feet.

Any source that ufc offered the fight and he turned it down?? As far as ive read UFC did not offer werdum a replacement fight (regardless of any social media banter.. calling someone out on twitter doesnt equal being offered a fight contract by UFC)
