Nintendo Switch Version Of Ark: Survival Evolved Confirmed
Ark arrives on Switch later this year.

Dinosaur survival game Ark: Survival Evolved has already made the transition from PC to consoles, and later this year, it will also make move to something a bit more portable. Developer Studio Wildcard has announced a Nintendo Switch version of the game is officially in the works.

Details on the Switch edition of Ark are currently scant, but Wildcard confirmed it will offer the same suite of features as the existing console versions on PS4 and Xbox One. The game is due out on Switch sometime this fall.

Ark quickly became a major success story after it launched on Steam Early Access in mid-2015. An Xbox One version, released through the Game Preview program, followed later that year, and it's continued to add new features and content in the intervening period. A full release followed on PC, PS4, and Xbox One last year. Although it pales in comparison to something like PUBG (as most games do), it's consistently among the most-played games on Steam.

Just recently, Wildcard announced that a free-to-play mobile version of Ark is also in the works. That release is being handled by War Drum Studios, the same developer responsible for a number of Rockstar's mobile adaptations, including GTA: Chinatown Wars and GTA: San Andreas.

I have little faith in this turning out well but will keep my eye on it.

So many RPGs coming this year to look forward to. We have this, Octopath, South park and Pillars.

This is probably going to be my next major Switch time consumer. Wrapping up Xenoblade in the next couple of days and would love to keep my JRPG kick going. Octopath will be awesome, and I'm seriously considering returning my South Park PS4 version so I can play on the go on the Switch. Really looking forward to Nintendo's E3 this year. I'm sure we'll get some in depth looks at the new Smash and hopefully some actual footage of Pokemon Switch and Metroid.

Yea I kept putting off the South Park game for some reason. Almost pulled the trigger when they released it on ps4 preordering #2 but backed out again. looks like it’s a good thing I did. Just got elder scrolls today so I’ll be balls deep in that for a while.

Ark seemed like a pretty graphic intensive game. I'd be pretty shocked if they could get it to run good on the switch.

Fair point. I have the game and it is hefty at times, but if they could get Wolfenstein up and running they can get this one as well assuming the devs play ball in terms of doing things right.

Kirby is such a beautiful looking game, Even though it being 2.5D is less of a problem to get running well than full 3-D it still looks great.
