Jets resigning Little is huge. Such an underrated player. Not as expensive as many people thought he'd sign for. He jus needs to stay fucking healthy now.

Yeah that's the argument I tend to agree with as well -- but, with Mcdavid and crosby taking 1 and 2 Center spots -- Seguin, Bergeron, Getz, toews, Scheifele (fuck yes you take him at this point), Tavares for the remaining 3 spots (assuming they take a center as their 13th man) toews can't play wing that well -- so it would be an interesting decision

There's a long history of great centers playing wing at international tournaments on stacked teams. I don't think any team in the world would or should leave Toews off the roster.

Consider that Kesler would 100% be on Team USA, and that Toews is still a better version of Kesler.

ej hradek's top 5 lines in hockey

5. nashiville: forsberg, johansen, arvidsson
4. winnipeg: ehlers, scheifele, wheeler
3. boston: marchand, bergeron, pastrnak
2. edmonton: maroon, mcdavid, strome
1. pittsburgh: guentzel, crosby, sheary

what do you losers think of ol' eej's picks?

i got the winnipeg line at the top of any list i am creating. they led the league in even strength scoring and and all three guys are solid. ehlers and scheifele will also probably be a little better this year.

the edmonton and pittsburgh lines are on the list strictly based mcdavid and crosby. in edmonton, i'm not even sure strome stays on that top line, draisaitl will have to get a look right? anyhow, you remove that one piece off these two lines and its just some guys on a pond. yeah, i said it.

fuck boston.

Props to the Boston and Nashville picks for not being just "the best centers in hockey" list. Benn-Seguin-Radulov is going to be fire though.

yeah, i really like dallas going into this year. i have always been a fan of bishop, hanzal gives them a good third center and radulov boosts the top line.

edmonton still the favorite out west but i think dallas is right there and could sneak into the final.

Yeah, the Oilers should he the favorite, almost entirely due to their offense, but the West is going to be a brawl. Dallas finally has a goaltending tandem it can be proud of. Anaheim's window is closing and Gibson is still shaky. Minnesota has a stacked team and a lot to prove. Chicago is trying to hang on to their glory days. LA has been in the gutter for a few seasons. Nashville was so close. St. Louis has been an also ran for years with a great team. Even the middle of the pack teams like Calgary and Winnipeg are going to be tough outs. It'll be interesting to see which of them plays the Penguins in the Final.

Vancouver still sucks.

yeah, the west is exciting as fuck if you remove vancouver and the california teams.

so this wong kid is like the next mcdavid in vegas. knights probably go undefeated in preseason and lose their first 20 regular season games.

This Wong kid and Nick Suzuki werent exactly lighting it up in CHL though like McDavid did, or else they be touted more.

My God, that new face off penalty is going to get retarded very quickly. What the hell are they thinking with that nonsense?

I think they're trying to save time, but I'm willing to be you quickly see a net loss of time once officials start huddling and escorting people to the box.

I have no idea how they think they're going to save time. I guess the goal is to eliminate cheating on a face off, but shit, some of the violations are incidental, and players are already voicing their confusion over what is and is not allowed, and what the refs are actually looking for.

The face offs were already getting silly, with refs hesitating to drop the puck, and kicking multiple guys out of the dot. Now we're going to get penalties that will completely alter the pace and outcome of the game. Jesus Christ. This has "disaster" written all over it.

Exactly, I think they were hoping the penalties were going to stop guys from taking liberties on draws, thereby avoiding making refs kick people out. Like how suspensions keep everyone in the UFC from using steroids.

i was joking. but he did have a 100 point season in his final year in lethbridge. i don't think he's actually even signed (nhl contract) as of right now.

and what's up with lupul? instead of getting a second medical opinion he is making his case through snowboarding, instagram posts? dude is a whiner but will end up taking the free money and sit his ass on ltir.

Life long Sabres fan, Is this the year they finally get back to the playoffs? Getting sick and tired of the shitty seasons and high draft picks, I got enough of that shit for over a decade cheering for the Raiders

Hard for an athlete to admit he's done.

Don't blame him for feeling bitter. He won't do shit though, and risk not getting his guranteed money.

Naw

They're not one of the top 3 teams in the Atlantic, and two teams from the Metro will probably scoop the Wild Card spots.

between the additional slashing calls and new face off penalties, jesus christ. my favorite is a slashing near the hand penalty followed immediately by a face off penalty for a 2 minute 5 on 3.
