There’s a lot more to being an athlete in MMA than just explosivness. As far as we know he could be C-level, because we haven’t seen him fight for 25 minutes. If he can’t deal with that, he’ll have to remove a lot of size and power.

That's fair. I'd say the main difference is the power though.

Messi is NOT an A-level athlete (although Ronaldo definitely is). Messi has superb coordination and dribbling ability, but he has no spectacular physical gifts.

Romero is a legitimate freak athlete, one of the best in any sport in the world in his prime.

Other great athletes which come to mind in the UFC would be GSP, Randleman, Bork, etc

Exactly. Literally, the first example he posts contradicts the first sentence he writes. Brilliant.

Randleman was a true freak of nature, remember him jumping when he entered the octagon and thinking he could clear big John if he wanted. RIP.

Seriously it would be nice to hear debates on serious topics without people stating things based solely on if they like a guy or not.
Brock for all of his faults in MMA was an A-Level Athlete and any debate otherwise is just plain stupid.

Debate if he was clean, debate if he was given a gift tryout for the NFL. But his accomplishments in Collegiate wrestling, his combine stats, his work in the WWE which by the way has many good athletes in it. And his accomplishments in MMA along with his obvious athletic ability which one can see after watching him perform in any of these arenas says otherwise. Seriously you see this over the top love for a fighter after a few fights were everyone acts like they are witnessing something that has never been seen or imagined in are lifetime.

In most places around the world, the A-athletes play soccer. This is one of the reasons why they are much better at it then the USA. In the US most of the top athletes play other sports. That is changing, but still in most High Schools around the country the top athletes play the typical sports, football, basketball, Hockey and Baseball.

Just because they aren't walking around with 30lbs of extra muscles doesn't mean they are not A-level.

2010 account who can't even understand sarcasm..

    Btw "wasn't anything special"

Brock's stats a few weeks after a motorcycle accident :

    40y 4"65 , vert 35", broad jump 10ft0, bp 30 reps @ 225

for reference JJ Watt's stats :

    40y 4"84 , vert 37", broad 10ft0, bp 34 reps.

Aka similar numbers as one of the defensive linemen of league..

He " wasn't anything special in footbal" l, but certainly not for athletics purposes ( but for lack of actual football playing).
Didn't think I'd teach that to an american.
    You must be 14.
