Agreed, that other dude has bigger muscles.
randy and lesnar both NCAA d1 wrestlers.
Randy had 24 fights worth of experience and 10 years worth of MMA experience on top of that when he fought lesnar
lesnar only had ONE YEAR of MMA training.
one fucking year. and he hadn't wrestled competitively in 7 years. his last title was in 2000.
he started MMA in 2007
it all boils down to lesnar being a B level athlete and Randy a C
Then go do it you big pussy
It would be like in BASEketball when they tried inner sports leagues
There are highly likely guys in the NFL who could be the UFC HW champion had they pursued a career in MMA instead, but Stipe would absolutely maul any of them if they were to step into a cage together today.
That's a massive pay cut for Harrison. He'll probably wait until he retires and wreck whoever the champ is then.
Stipe beats his fat ass
stipe couldn't eve beat Struve's skinny ass.
This is old.
Being an A-level athlete means jack shit if you can't take a punch, nor enjoy the lifestyle of being a fighter.
This dude knows nothing.
Harrison is right, but this would never happen unless he wanted to make the peanuts that Stipe makes.
Yawn. Maybe they can have a rematch one day
stipe has been rocked in every fight since he got the belt.
a B level athlete would devour him.
struves like F level for fucks sake
There are a lot of guys in other sports that could potentially be very good at MMA obviously. Doesnt mean simply participating in that sport at a high level automatically means you could be a UFC champ level fighter if you wanted to though. Plus that dude wouldnt even be able to make the weight and would most likely gas like a motherfucker in a drawn out fight.
No. Randy Couture was a B level athlete for sure, but he was a natural LHW fighter. He only moved up to HW because he couldn't beat Chuck Liddel. Lesnar was probably an A level athlete, and also weighed 300 pounds. It was well documented that he cut ~30 pounds to make the 265 HW limit.
Lesnar beat Couture because of 1) better athletic genetics and 2) being much, much bigger. Couture weighed in at like 219 pounds for their fight... That means Lesnar had an 80 pound (!!!) weight advantage in that fight.
These guys live in a world of make believe.
There is no doubt they are incredible athletes, and would have serious potential in MMA....
But if you think for 1 second they can train for a few years, with no experience and challenge Stipe? They're sadly mistaken. If you're not use to fighting at this level? No matter how talented you are, you need lots of time to acclimate yourself.
They have no idea what they're getting into.
everyone is an NCAA champ
Wasnt Ngannou a B level athlete? I mean he was black and muscular and everything.
You and your silly levels
He was a superior athlete who was also an amazing wrestler.
If you truly think an american football player with a bit of training would beat Stipe stop watching this sport. You clearly don't understand it.
I think he'd be surprised.
