Tight end Dennis Pitta re-injured his hip at Friday's offseason practice, the second straight day that the Baltimore Ravens have dealt with a significant injury.

Pitta is undergoing tests to determine the severity of his injury. He underwent hip surgery in 2013 and 2014 before coming back last season to lead all tight ends with 86 receptions.

"This is incredibly disappointing, obviously for Dennis, and for the Ravens," general manager Ozzie Newsome said in a statement.

According to the team, Pitta fell to the turf trying to make a catch and couldn't put weight on his leg when he tried to get up.

On Thursday, the Ravens lost nickelback Tavon Young to a torn ACL. He is expected to miss the 2017 season.

Is Maclin really that far down or are the Chiefs getting ready for the rebuild? They're contending for a super bowl so this is out of left field. Apparently Andy Reid was at his wedding 2 weeks ago too lol.

Maclin was owed 12.4 mil this year. He was nicked up and dealing with personal issues (death of his best friend) last year. I dont think he has lost it, per se, he just wasnt worth that amount due to the circumstances (offense/qb play, injury prone, age). Ive been a Maclin fan from the mid 2000s (big MU fan), so I wish him the best. Seems like the decision was purely business.

Even at a time like this @HUNTERMANIA doesn't see anything other than the bright side. Losing two starters only means that they will probably go undefeated with an average win margin of 10 instead of 20.
 
Figured it was a salary thing with Maclin. Contract maximizes when production wanes and age increases. Would be a fine catch for the Raiders though. Would be ironic because he was in the same draft as Crabs when Oakland picked Heyward-Bey over both of them.
