Why not?
It's good opportunity for prisoners to earn more, pay their debts,to be fameous 5 min in their lives, stay in shape,or to "strike"again,or reduce bla,bla.....
Would be a new, good "killing" competition.
Maybe not for hard core criminals, killers, but youngsters...
What do you think?
Whatta BS..,
Fckin monday

Initially, I was going to say that it sounds like a horrible idea to train incarcerated felons with those kinds of tools. However...there is some wiggle room in my opinion...IF it was only offered to non-violent offenders.

War Machine could coach the first coterie!

They should have a TUF format, where established fighters train prisoners to fight eachother.

Call it 'Pros and Cons'

Way to take a good idea, and take all the fun out of it.

Make it sporting, organize it exclusively for lifers on death row solely for violent crimes. It would be simply expediting the due process of the law and providing entertainment. Winners live to fight another day.

Or have the pros fight the cons, and the cons can earn more canteen money and conjugals if they win.

Pretty sure SCOTUS would have a massive issue with that.

Its not a bad idea, it may give prisoners a new sense of positivity & purpose. I like watching those prison documentaries, its all depressing & hopeless. Commercialising prison fights is something I would watch.
On the flip side, it may generate more notoriety & glorification of prison life. The show must be packaged right & properly.
My idea is to forward half of the prisoners fight money to their victims/family.

Prisoners in Thailand are allowed to train, fight, and possibly win their freedom through Muy Thai competitions. The prisoners chosen fight in front of large crowds and make the government a lot of money. If the UFC had a "prison division" where men don't fight for belts but work there way up for a shot at their freedom ... I would be interested.
