Hello guys/girls, I am new to the UFC, I want to start training BJJ, but I am not sure if that is the best base for MMA. What are some role models to look up to? How can I progress very fast in my preparation for fight?

Please take guys out of the intro. Only girls train BJJ as offense.

Learn to throw a punch. Unless you are a female, then you're headed in the easiest direction.

You're in the perfect place to ask about that
@SKEAME is right, touch butt is a legit base to start training MMA
Drinking your own urine helps a lot to improve cardio and striking

Wrestling is the best base for MMA, mainly because it allows you to control where the fight goes. So if you are a great wrestler with good hands, you can keep a fight from going to the ground (against a great jiu jitsu guy), or you can take it there if you need to (against a great Muay Thai guy).

That way you can still compete at a pretty high level as you develop your other skills (Jiu jitsu & MT). Basically, wrestling is the best base because it will keep you alive and safe while you work to become more well-rounded.

Assuming this is not a troll thread, you need to train some form of striking if you want to fight MMA.
Bjj is necessary, but you will probably have a hard time taking down wrestlers, judokas or sambo guys.
In Brazil many guys start their careers with good bjj and basic striking. Since there aren't wrestlers, it works fine. Then they get to the UFC and face people with great TDD and sub defense and get beat up...

You might get some more serious answers in the "Training" forums.

Do what you enjoy. Go try some BJJ, Muay Thai, wrestling (if you're somewhere in the world you can get good classes).....see what you like and go from there

Bad place to ask that - Sherdog is exclusively for assholes and smartasses... However, Royce Gracie used to have a ton of VHS instructional tapes I'd watch relentlessly, they're awesome. He takes you thru each maneauver step by step. Not sure where you would find them now, but they exist. It's all just BJJ and setup strikes, but it's somewhere to start

Wrestling or BJJ for grappling or Judo that puts an even amount of focus on the ground and for striking you will need boxing and muay thai. It's ok to suppliment with Karate or TKD but I wouldn't make it a base this late in the game. You can't be based in 1 thing unless you've got 20 years to train in it. I would put heavy focus in a couple styles of striking and a couple styles of grappling.
