"a new study from the Political Economy Research Institute (PERI) at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst finds that single-payer health care will save the US $5.1 trillion over a decade while drastically cutting working-class Americans’ health spending. It’s the most robust, comprehensive study yet produced on Medicare for All, which has long been in need of easily citable research."

Sounds like a no brainer

Here we go again. "Massive entitlement spending actually saves us money."

The statement that stands out:
"It’s the most robust, comprehensive study yet produced on Medicare for All, which has long been in need of easily citable research." Somebody wants to sell the public on Socialized medicine, and they needed "easily citable research" to do it. So they commissioned this report. We can trust that it will provide an honest assessment of what "Medicare for All" will really cost.

Even the highly partisan Koch funded studied showed it saved money over our current system. Read the actual study and then discuss the research

Somehow the $5.1T savings will be spun as:

"Stock market down thanks to historically weak earnings report in the healthcare and health insurance industries- perhaps saving money at the cost of market downturn isn't worth"

Queue all the right wing shills arguing against the best interests of their own countrymen

How does a compulsory funded monopoly (that's government) allocate resources more efficiently than a decentralized market? Have you looked into that?

Are our current system and full government medicine our only options?

Someone already has, and it's in the OP

Bullshit!!!!

It will save us at least 85 trillion over 10 years. And a cure for cancer is guaranteed

The Political Economy Research Institute is a far left political group with heavy bias...its even in their MISSION STATEMENT. "...promotes human and ecological well-being through our original research."

To pre-define your research outcomes? Lol...their research is as valid as PETAs.

One way that would save massive amounts of money is simplified billing. That alone would save billions of dollars and be way more efficient.

Also everyone don't lose sight that the Koch funded research also found that UHC would save americans lots of money.

Too lazy to read the article and address the contents, yeah?

I don't want to tell you Medicare for all is the only path forward, but you should really understand that a literal monkey, fucking a literal football, could literally save is us money if we put it in charge of our medical industry.

Aka cutting health care costs is the lowest hanging fruit in our country.

That's nice, except a separate study funded by Koch (heavy right wing bias) came to a very similar conclusion. So you don't have an argument

"Promotes human and ecological well being" - this is a left wing bias???

Right wingers are outing themselves as being anti human well being?

You know what else would save us billions of dollars?
