Neither Conor or DJ are Ducks. At the end of the day It comes down to one thing

Hmm,

one guy has an actual legacy that he can look back on and say I was one of the BEST EVER based on my resume.

The other guy - a few good wins, an embarrassing loss in another combat sport - but made shit loads of money.

Conor could get a big payday fighting Khabib. He just doesn't know how to continue that payday when he loses.

Losing to Mayweather and then losing in his return to MMA would almost kill his brand. He is buying time in order to set up a fight with Nate which he believes he could win. Big payday, expands his brand, never has to touch Khabib or Tony, can then stall more in the hope someone beats those guys and he can comeback and and avoid them.

Dude 2 of his last 3 fights broke the PPV record.

The McGregor fight did like 4.0 mil ppv buys and the Pac Man fight did 4.6 mil ppv buys and see the record.

And the Canelo fight which was 6 fights ago did 2.2 mil ppv buys.

So 3 out his last 6 broke 2 mil ppv. WTF are you talking about?

The 2 Maidana fights did 900K and 925K which are fine numbers. No one could be angry at those.

The Berto fight did like half mil which is a drop off but still puts you in the green financially.

You claimed Conor needed Floyd and that Floyd could sell with anyone. Yet his last 3 PPVs without a big name like Conor, Pacquiao, or Canelo averaged like 700k buys. The fact of the matter is Conor and Floyd needed each other.
