He's a pretty solid example of how talent and athletic ability can only get you so far if you don't have it between the ears

His deficiency between the ears is the whole reason he was a “come back story” to begin with.

Well duh, but being able to come back at all with rocks in his head, and then playing to a MAX contract, is a pretty good comeback story in itself
 
Inspiring, really. He showed mush-brained athletic kids all across the country that with some (emphasis on "some") work put in, they to can get a max deal that will later end unceremoniously
