Should he be ranked higher or lower? I honestly don't see Nate beating anybody in the top 5. I feel even Kevin Lee at #7 would whoop him bad.

If you're talking real rankings. He doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the top ten.

How long has it been since he did anything at LW? Or any weight?

It's been more than 2 years since he fought at LW. Both of his last two fights were at WW.

The UFC has to over-rank him so that it won't look so bad that their golden boy was tapped out in the 2nd round by a gatekeeper.

The UFC rankings are literally created by second rate MMA "journalists".

They're really nothing more than a measure of popularity.

    Feel free to ignore them.

Yeah, so I guess #8 doesn’t say much for the rest of the division

Its lw it's probably the most stacked division in mma.

It does speak to how underrated Nate was. He was never top 3 or 4 but he was 5-7 in mma toughest division. Hes a legit top fighter.

I could see him beating Alvarez, Barboza, Gaethje, Poirer, McGregor

Hell I could see him beating Ferguson (though I wouldn't favour him, that is a fight I'd love to see though)

At the end of the day, in his last two fights he submitted the LW Champ, then took him to a majority decision, his ranking is ok in my book

styles makes fights. With the Diaz brothers its actually really easy to see who he'll lose to.

    He'd beat Alvarez and Poirier.

Nate can beat Conor on a good day, Dustin, Chiesa, and Al. The rest should beat him.

Khabib, Lee, Tony, and Alvarez win via wrestling to a UD.

Edson and Justin win by TKO via leg kicks.

An argument can be made for him beating Gaethje if Gaethje comes in super dumb.

MMA rankings are just about popularity (and not being banned by the UFC). Nate shouldn't be ranked at the moment.

However, i believe Nate is pretty underrated on Sherdog. He could beat several top 10 lws, but would struggle with the bigger wrestlers.
