I think Diaz would take a fight other than Conor if he knew the rubber match was on the table as an incentive. Make Diaz vs. Ferguson for the interim, and if Diaz can come out on top with the belt, the rubber match with Conor also serves as a unification bout.

If Conor deserved a rematch with Diaz, it's only fair Diaz get the rubber match, which is not to say I think it should be the next fight for either fighter.
