Conor, when all is said and done, and we're being serious, did better than expected. He won a few rounds - no one expected that. Hell, a few so called boxing experts expected that he wouldn't land a punch.
But did he win those rounds by being a better boxer than Floyd, or did he win those rounds because Floyd decided not to do enough to win them? Because it makes all the difference in the world. Floyd barely threw anything in those rounds. It's not difficult to win around against someone who is barely fighting. If anything, it wasn't a case of Conor doing more than expected, but Floyd doing less.
Then again, when you look at the stats, even in those rounds, you still see an enormous gap in skill between the two, because even though Conor threw more, he landed at a much lower percentage than Floyd.
Another thing people need to realize is that Floyd was very far from being in top shape. Conor didn't experience the same Floyd that fought Canelo. Conor faced Floyd maybe at 30%. And he still got stopped.
Conor didn't do anything that impressed me. In fact, i expected him to be tough enough to not to get stopped by the past prime version os someone criticized by the lack of KO power. He couldn't even do that. There were moments where Conor looked like a retard throwing punches. I see no reason to be impressed by what he did.
