Mystery file d/l'd to my PC while browsing thread

While browsing this page, an .swf file was downloaded to my computer, and thankfully was caught by my AV. Sorry, I'm not touching it to try to give details, as I have sub-novice cyberjitsu, just letting you know so you can have a look.

I don't know enough to say whether is harmless, is sketchy, is normal, is not good tech guy, is victim of xenforo apocalypse, is the ghost of (insert dead former moderator). But glad I'm not the only one. Unless you like the same porn I do. In which case, go right to the hospital.

Did you click on any links on this page? .swf is a flash file and Chrome blocks it be default and can for whatever reason attempt to download it instead. Run the page through VirusTotal and it should show it as clean. Go to chrome://settings/content/ and allow Flash to see if it comes up again.

Same here, on the same thread. As soon as I click on it I get a notice asking if I want to keep that file. Only happens on that OJ thread.

I always browse this forum on my phone using Chrome, as up until now that was the least buggy way of using Sherdog.

Didn't click any links, but that's interesting that Chrome will do that. Thanks for checking, glad it's no big deal.

I forget what the file was called something embed .swf

I Googled it and was surprised it didn't seem to be a disease-ridden piece of shit, as far as I could tell.
