Fellows it's not just about FireFox...you also need to use the FF add on Adblock. I NEVER have troubles thanks to it.

+1 I fully endorse this post. It takesa little bit of time when you first install it to track down the various servers that provide the ads. Once that's done you're free and clear. It's successfully blocked everything on here for the past few months for me, with no bugs or weirdness of any kind.

It is annoying. Downloading Opera helps. It's a lot faster and even safer than Iexplorer, Firefox and Safari.

You could also just setup you iexplorer better and accept only one request and cookie from Sherdog.

No the problem is Sherdog forums loading as many as three high res animated flash banners at once. That'll bog down ANY computer.

This head in the sand, just dump IE attitude is not really helpful. It's clear that there's a PROBLEM WITH THE SITE that causes problems, occasionally with just about any browser and frequently with probably the most ubiquitous browser on the web. IE may not be teh l33t these days, but tons of people use it and it's just basic web design 101 to make sure your page works with it well. It's not a fix, but a workaround when someone has to either change something that works fine otherwise and that they are happy with or launch another program than the usual browser, just to look at one web site. (ie. - link to FF, ff''s homepage set to sherdog, icon says Sherdog)

HERE IS HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM IN IE W/O SWITCHING TO FIREFOX:[/size]

You can stop Sherdog.com from running scripts in IE by doing the following:

1. Tools>Internet Options
2. Goto the Security Tab and click on the "restricted sites" icon
3. click on the "Sites" button
4. add sherdog.com to teh sites list.
5. click on the "default level" button and ensure it is set to "high"
6. accept all changes in all windows and restart IE.

These directions were made using IE 7. You may want to upgrade to IE 7 if you aren't running it. Also, make sure you goto windows update and keep your box patched.

a) download firefox

b) get an addon for firefox called NoScript.
