Long time no log

Was in Vegas for a week & just drank instead of working out.

Tried to lift on Saturday, but everything hurt. Knee wouldn't let me do squats, so I did some light deadlifts & tweaked my back somehow. Was going to bench, but shoulder was hurting too. Just a sucky day. Did make it to the AVP tournament on the beach, had courtside VIP tickets, so that was pretty cool. Went back on Sunday for the finals.

Back is still a little tweaked today, so I didn't try to lift, just got on the bike for some conditioning. Did a 13 mile bike ride in 58 minutes, kept HR around 130-140.

BJJ - 1 Hour

Really good class today. Spent 20 minutes doing open guard specific training with the same partner, just back & forth. After that, 3x5 minute rounds of rolling. Lower back is still a little jacked, might try to get to the chiropractor today.

CONDITIONING
~30 min, 3 mile run, HR 130-150
8 x Hills
- 5s sprint @ 100%, rest until HR <130 (about 60s, longer on the last few)

Lower back still doesn't feel right, so avoided squats. Gym was super crowded though, so didn't do much. Followed it up with some conditioning.

BJJ - 1 Hour

Sparring Friday. Did 8 x 5 min rounds, rolled with every belt color. Smashed some, got smashed some. Good Times!

Biked to beach & then played about 2 hours of beach volleyball. Felt good to move around, didn't work too hard.
 
You got a diagnosis on your back or is "fucked" what the doc said. Cause that's the words my doc used do I assume it's some sort of official medical term.
 
No diagnosis on the back, it's just tight sometimes & doesn't want to loosen up.

Just wanted to have some fun today with Bench. Because bench is fun. I've decided to run MM2K - at least as close as I can - to see if I can get my bench up a bit. Needed to find my 1RM first, 225 & 245 practically flew up, but had a bad rack on the 265 attempt. At any rate I used 255 as my 1RM for MM2K and then did the 1st workout. Going to be tough to stick to the program for 7 weeks since I'm flying somewhere every week for work. But I'm going to give it a shot.

Also, my back felt fine during squats. Don't know what was wrong yesterday.

Deadlift felt fine, but I didn't want to push it since my lower back has been bothering me & I was on 6 different planes this week. Everything else was ok - wanted to do more curls but had to get back to work.

BJJ - 1.5 Hours

First time back on the mat in a few weeks. Felt good. We did a bunch of drilling bullfight pass variations, and then 30 minutes of sparring. Pretty exhausting.

Lots of drilling bullfight pass variations, then sparring - 3x 6 min rounds. Was super tired, but survived.

Bench went great today - I expected to get 3-4 reps at 230, 10 was way beyond expectations. Didn't get to do squats, the entire time I was there, all the squat racks were in use.

BJJ - 1 Hour

Solid hour of sparring today. Mostly 7 minute rounds. Rolled with every belt level, had fun. Did a slightly better job on some sweeps from half guard I've been working, also did a slightly better job retaining guard. Good times :)
