MVP vs Daley Set For Feb 16th Fight At Mohegan Sun in Connecticut

DAZN USA are the ones paying for these exclusive rights to the WWGP, that's why they will all be held at primetime in the US, the money they get from DAZN is way more than the gate MVP Vs Daley brings in the UK.
Lame because what DAZN is paying is small potatoes what Bellator would get from a sold out gate in England plus the event sponsorship rights plus the commercial buy rights for this one event in England plus the benefit of future fan growth this fight would bring in England. You think now, Bellator needs to start thinking like One Championship and the UFC. Scott Coker, a good scout and fighter development person, but a bad promoter.

So first Peppa this Pig ruins Mousasi/Macdonald and now Bellator is having their two biggest UK stars fight in the US instead of the UK LOL

The MMA Gods must not want Bellator to succeed in the UK
Call it a bad promoter. And never ever be surprised again by the puzzling moves Bellator makes under Scott Coker. This is who he is.

DAZN are paying for 7 exclusive shows a year, that's the US version of DAZN and they are paying $33 million for those rights, that's nearly $5 million a event, do you think they could make that in the UK at most likely a 12,000 seat arena? of Course not. They are also doing 10 live events for the UK/western European market in 5 Spike UK and to build up stars. The UFC also are running the O2 arena in London early March, they don't want to be near that with one of their big events.

The card would never have been on PPV and Channel 5 are not going to pay big money to show this. They might have one separate sponsorship but it's most likely going to be the usual companies that sponsor Bellator events

Yes, MVP vs Paul Daley in England could make much more than $5 million dollars. The gate alone would do over $1 million, then sponsorship rights for the event leading up to the event, and advertising rights from the official drink of Bellator MVP vs Daley, the advertising on the cage, on the floor canvas more money. The commercial buy rights even more money. And the potential growth in fan base in England for future events even more money. You think short term.

much better convo than in the heavys, both of you guys have fair points, but i am sure they promised mvp and daley to dazn, so you might as well put our other euro fighters on the same card and rack in some suscriptions from us

Scott Coker's is a awful promoter. He's a good talent scout and fighter developer, but a awful promoter.

I was so pumped to see this fight for so long, now that it's announced after so long I've honestly lost a lot of interest in it.

Also lol @ this not being in the UK.

Bellator has the biggest and best UK mma fight in the sport right now and they've been building into the UK market and then they decide to take this fight to Connecticut. Its like UFC having Whittaker/Adesanya in Dallas.

This is one of the stupidest dec Bellator has made in a while.

ya this is beyond stupid. Not sure how you can have a fight that caters to a specific crowd so much and then just have the match across the globe lol. Solid move here by Coker. Would love to know the reasoning behind this.

Good point about Coker. Never thought of it that way. We all know he’s a great talent scout. Strike force had arguably the best fighters in some of the weight classes before the UFC bought them out. Look how many guys from Strikeforce became champs or top contenders in the UFC. But you’re right, he’s a terrible promoter. There have been some very stupid moves made on Coker’s part with Bellator. Scheduling the MVP/Daley fight at an Indian Casino in CT vs having it in the UK has to be at the top of his stupid promotional decision making.

Im watching from home sobidc where they fight just glad its booked

Potentially the biggest all-British fight in mma history; buried at a casino in connecticut.

Bellator is dead.
