    Sunday, April 15
    ESPN2 (8AM ET/5AM PT)
    Ryota Murata vs. Emanuele Blandamura
    (WBA “regular” middleweight title)

From Japan live on ESPN2 Ryota Murata(13-1, 10 KOs)who is an olympic gold medalist and a huge star in Japan is making his first defense of the middleweight WBA belt against Emanuele Blandamura(27-2, 5 KOs)from Italy.

Just a little over an hour to go before this thing starts. Always fun seeing cards from Japan because the crowd is different from the US and usually the exact opposite of the UK fans.

Murata can bang and box, even if he's a bit predictable. Making NDam quit was quite something.

Surprised this is on ESPN2. I woke up to use the bathroom just now and saw this thread. Set it to record, and now going back to bed. Looking forward to watching when I officially wake up for the day

The Italian anthem is literally facist. Broadcasting these anthems are a microagression against my freedom. #banAnthems

In other news, in the time it took me to drop a deuce and post on Sherdog, my lady decide to toss and turn enough to form a cocoon of sorts our of the sheets and duvet, and is laying diagonally across the bed. I didn't want to deal with that, so I decided to just lay down on the sofa and watch the card.

he was saying some shit about switching lanes on the highway, rather than parking at home... I didn't really follow his train of thought with that one.

edit: by saying some shit, I mean he was yelling some shit.

"Put bugs on his windshield" means throw jabs apparently.

Murata is throwing bombs at the body. Geez.

Bland's movement is annoying as fuck. His punches look like they have absolutely no power on them tho, none what so ever.

The home town kid is doing great yet the Japanese crowd looks like they are at a funeral.

Bland down hard in round 8! Nice right hand.

    It's over.

Murata is the 8th ranked middleweight by ESPN. Hope he gets a big fight next.

blandamura is crafty, defensively. hard to hit cause he's always moving around, quick, but not much power.
billy joe saunders was totally frustrated when he fought blandamura, they hardly landed any meaningful punches, until saunders caught him was a counter right towards the end of the bout.
inoue & hasegawa were commentating the murata bout, as they said it would be really difficult to KO this type of guy, who doesn't engage..
in the post fight intvw, murata apologized to the fans, he said 'everyone was probably thinking hurry up and KO this guy.'

anyways, murata called out GGG, as his main goal. but maybe 1 down the line..
olympic silver medalist, Falcao is next. then if he wins, arum says hopefully GGG late 2018.
arum thinks he says the size advantage.

damn, Daigo's corner threw in the towel :( That sucks to see, he's one of hte few proper infighters out there right now. I hope it's just a weight thing and he comes back at 115 better.

his camp looks way to old school

murata should take one or two more good but not great opponents on then target Andrade or BJS. Those are winnable fights for him. I think he could end up a pretty good fighter if his career is well guided. He apparently wants GGG, but that's a big nono IMO.

    Murata should go after Lemiuex

Or if Lara moves up, I think Murata has the style to destroy him
