Personally I think the back kick from TKD is the most effective and powerful kick there is,I can't count the number of times that kick has saved my ass in street fight or sparring aggressive tards that just head hunt looking for the KO.Also the spinning heel kick if landed would surely result in an instant KO or even death just a devastating kick.

Every style can be effective in the hands of a skilled, smart martial artst (and vice versa). Discrediting a whole art just shows ignorance.

If you think Thai fighters are flat on their feet while kicking you clearly have not attended a single Muay Thai lesson in your life. It's literally the first thing you learn. Heck, some trainers will even hit the heel of your foot with a stick if it touches the floor.

A friend of mine recently signed up for a TKD class and when I asked him why he picked TKD specifically he said "because McGregor has proven its better than MT in a real fight." I listed off a bunch of MMA champs with MT backgrounds but he didnt seem deterred.

The point of this thread is to discuss about the practicality of MT kicks. They're easily caught. Perhaps this is why TKD and Karate guys kick the way they do with a snap or like a "whip". The TKD kicks would be harder to catch than MT kicks and as the GOAT says "You can't catch a whip." When the GOAT speaks, heed him.

I know this is a complete troll job, but here's the reality- You are not allowed to catch kicks in TKD and Karate. MT kicks aren't any more easier to catch, it's just that MT guys are better at catching kicks because it's part of the game.
