this is the new record from phil elverum under his mount eerie moniker. last year his wife died from pancreatic cancer at the age of 35, a year after she gave birth to their first daugther. he basically just wrote down his feelings like he's having a conversation with her and spoke the words back over his broken acoustic guitar. it's probably the first piece of art in a long time that has made me want to keep living. if you are grappling with death you should listen to it.

in 2016 his wife died a year after (2015) she had given birth to their first daugther. sorry i typed it weird in the original post.
