Moral Outrage: ICE Detains/Deports Man who was Driving his Pregnant Wife to Deliver Their Baby

As reported yesterday in the Huffington Post, Time, Talking Points Memo, Daily Kos ("sorry folks, but ICE is basically a gestapo unit"), The Independent, CBS (updated after truth came out), CNN (updated after truth came out), The Guardian, and Newsweek, ICE agents stopped a Mexican guy called Joel Arrona-Lara and his wife in San Bernadino. ICE asked to see his ID. He didn't have one, and they arrested him. The wife had to drive herself to the hospital for her scheduled c-section (she was not in labor).


Sounds horrible, right?


Hours after the mainstream media and left-wing blogosphere jumped on the story, ICE spokeswoman Lori Haley issued a statement to the Daily Caller. Here are two key points:

  • Arrona-Lara was brought to ICE’s attention due to an outstanding warrant for his arrest in Mexico on homicide charges
  • Arrona-Lara has been living illegally in the U.S. for 12 years


No reasonable person believes the US mainstream media's narratives at this point. Here again, in their efforts to further smear the Trump administration, the MSM have ended up with egg on their faces.

All the 'left' sources and fox too (the perceived right) are owned, operated and controlled by the very same minds. That's the box. The trick is to think outside of those lines.
 
It never matters what the real story is because the media spins it however they need to make it fit their needs. Even if the truth comes out later people are already upset and pissed off, and I'd bet many of them likely won't believe the actual truth because it doesn't fit their narrative. Probably reject it as some kind of alt-right spin to try and make Trump look good.

Lies spread like wildfire but truth spreads like molasses and the media knows this.

It's a common tactic and often very much deliberate. Publish some fake news and leave it out there long enough to get multiple likes, shares and views, whipping the brainwashed masses into a frenzy in the process. Then once it has done its job offer a correction or retraction that is buried away somewhere and hardly anyone sees. The mainstream media are a sick joke.

It reminds me of those idiots who protested and tried to obstruct ICE as they were busting a child sex trafficking ring. The mainstream media and the left are so far gone that they are now openly shilling for rapists, murderers and pedophiles.

You should check out some of the comments on the Washington Post article. People are saying they think ICE made up the homicide charge and that ICE should have to present evidence of the homicide to the public before making the apprehension.
 
HuffPost seems to have removed all reference to it. No follow up, no retraction, no apology.

Beyond detestable and continuing to prove the fake news mantra correct.

Just so I am clear... Is this OP just a criticism of inaccurate, misleading reporting?

Or are you suggesting that had the father-to-be not been wanted on a homicide charge, had this same stop and arrest been made on the simple basis of improper entry by alien, you also would be condemning ICE for an inhumane, over-aggressive, unreasonable enforcement action?
