Schumer as Barbie? Wtf. Maybe if Barbie had a fat friend. Hathaway sucks as Barbie also. She don't have the curves. Maybe Brooklyn Decker or A Daddario.

Just be happy and don't give the Amy Pascals of the world something to revolt against. Otherwise we'll be back in Schumer / Dunham territory with this one.

Hathaway is so hot that she will sell tickets to that dumb ass movie

Jared Leto in Talks to Star in Valiant's BLOODSHOT Movie for Sony Pictures

Jared Leto is in talks to star in Sony’s Bloodshot which is based on indie comic book publisher Valiant Entertainment’s IP. The project, which is being produced by Neal Moritz, is being directed by Dave Wilson who is partnered with Deadpool director Tim Miller’s at Blur Studios.

This is the second film from a five-picture deal that was the result of a deal between Beverly Hills/Beijing-based DMG and Valiant. Sony acquired the Bloodshot series from Valiant back in 2012. The first in the series was Harbinger. It could be the beginning of a powerful franchise for both Sony and Leto.

Leto will see if a deal can be worked out to star as Bloodshot’s protagonist is Angelo Mortalli, a ruthless killer for the mob who is set up by the family and framed for a murder. He instead goes into Witness Protection, but is betrayed by an FBI agent guarding him, kidnapped and forcibly subjected to an experimental program in which his body is injected with microscopic computers called nanites. They erase his brain and rebuild it and his body to be a weapon with superhuman strength and healing powers. The character was created by Kevin Van Hook, Don Perlin, and Bob Layton in 1992.

The film will be produced by Moritz and Toby Jaffe through the Original Films banner and by Valiant’s Dinesh Shamdasani with Matthew Vaughn and Jason Kothari on as executive producers.

Sequels are planned for both Harbinger and Bloodshot before the title characters meet in Harbinger Wars, which is based on Valiant’s 2013 comic book crossover.

Lionsgate Plotting JOHN WICK Universe With BALLERINA Action Script

3cl7oKI.jpg

Lionsgate has won a bidding war to pick up a female-centric spec action script titled Ballerina that will serve as a platform for a possible John Wick spinoff.

Basil Iwanyk, whose Thunder Road banner is behind the hit Wick action franchise starring Keanu Reeves, will produce Ballerina.

Ballerina has been described as being in the vein of La Femme Nikita, the 1990 female-centric assassin movie that helped launch the career of filmmaker Luc Besson, but with a more pulpy, hyper-stylized bent a la Quentin Tarantino or Matthew Vaughn.

Details are being kept under the tutu, but the story is known to center on a young woman raised as an assassin who must hunt down the other assassins that murdered her family.

The script hit the studios last week, with Warner Bros. and Universal also vying for it, according to sources. Lionsgate saw in it potential to further grow its Wick franchise (a third movie is now in the works).

While Lionsgate is relishing the idea of a franchise expansion, the screenwriter behind Ballerina is living out a Hollywood dream.

The deal marks the first sale for Shay Hatten, a 23-year-old scribe who idolizes Shane Black (Lethal Weapon) and is currently working as a writer's assistant for Robert Downey Jr.’s production company, Team Downey. Hatten has been on an upward Hollywood trajectory since graduating from Loyola Marymount’s School of Film and Television in 2016. He snagged an internship at Team Downey while writing a black comedy script, Maximum King!, in his spare time, and that script led to representation at CAA and ended up on last year’s Black List and Blood List. Hatten was then upped by Downey to writer's assistant, providing script notes and coverage on the company's many projects while tackling what would become Ballerina on nights and weekends.

James Cameron Planning a New TERMINATOR Trilogy and "Reinventing" the Series

dupIBMR.jpg

Director James Cameron (Avatar, Titanic) is looking at creating a new Terminator trilogy, according to an interview with News.com.au, speaking about the film franchise’s relevance in a world where technology is catching up to the sci-fi films of the past. However, there seem to be plans in the works.

“The question is — has the franchise run its course or can it be freshened up?,” Cameron says. “So I am in discussions with David Ellison, who is the current rights holder globally for the Terminator franchise and the rights in the US market revert to me under US copyright law in a year and a half so he and I are talking about what we can do. Right now we are leaning toward doing a three-film arc and reinventing it.”

Cameron, who will regain the Terminator rights himself in 2019, previously announced that plans for a new film was in the works and that Arnold Schwarzenegger would be involved. There is no word about whether or Schwarzenegger will be a part of the entire new Terminator trilogy.

Denis Villeneuve, Yann Demange, David Mackenzie Up for BOND 25 Director

James Bond has a release date for his next film, and he will soon have a director. It's known for months that Daniel Craig was going to return and finish his run as 007 with the one film commitment he has left on his deal, so that is hardly a surprise.

While there has been published speculation about Dunkirk‘s Christopher Nolan and Baby Driver‘s Edgar Wright possibly surfacing as each did the press tour on those hit films, I’m hearing that the three frontrunners to direct the next James Bond movie are Yann Demange, Denis Villeneuve and David Mackenzie.

Demange directed ’71, an electric 2014 thriller that starred Jack O’Connell as a British soldier left behind the lines in Northern Ireland after dark, who struggles to get safe. He is currently directing White Boy Rick, with Matthew McConaughey leading the ensemble.

Villeneuve is coming off the Best Picture nominee Arrival and Blade Runner 2049, the Alcon sequel which will be released by Warner Bros October 6.

Mackenzie directed Best Picture nominee Hell or High Water, and he signed on to direct Outlaw King, the story of Scottish king Robert the Bruce, which most know from Braveheart. These are top of the food chain filmmakers, all.

As for Nolan and Wright, each has shown some exuberance about Bond duty, but the likelier scenario is they would take over the franchise down the line when it is inevitably rebooted and they can start from scratch.

Villeneuve might have a scheduling conflict — he’s making Dune for Legendary — which might give a slight edge to Demange. The three frontrunners have all had meetings, Deadline is told.

Mark Wahlberg in Talks to Replace Ben Affleck in TRIPLE FRONTIER

Transformers-The-Last-Knight-Mark-Wahlberg-Dragonlords-Review.png

The JC Chandor-directed thriller Triple Frontier has regained its footing at Netflix for a potential August production start. Mark Wahlberg is now in talks to replace Ben Affleck, who dropped out last week.

The film will shoot in Hawaii and Colombia and will star Sons of Anarchy‘s Charlie Hunnam, Mudbound‘s Garrett Hedlund and Pedro Pascal, coming off Game of Thrones and Narcos. Wahlberg is coming off Transformers: The Last Knight. Still in the mix is Adria Arjona, who has been attached right along.

This last–minute activity is just part and parcel of the resilience this film has shown. Triple Frontier was a go at Paramount but hit the rocks when lead actors Tom Hardy and Channing Tatum dropped out over creative differences, weeks before the start of production. That, a $70 million price tag and the fact the studio was going through a regime change with the exit of the late Brad Grey (who championed the project), prompted Paramount to put the film into turnaround.

Deadline revealed this implosion on April 12, and then on May 1 revealed that Netflix was pursuing the picture along with other suitors, with Affleck and his Oscar-winning brother Casey courted. The elder Affleck was ready to go but decided to take a break to focus on his health and family. Incoming Netflix feature film head Atlas producers Charles Roven and Alex Gartner kept the fires stoked, and now they have pulled off a rarity: saving a project that seemed in grave danger of flatlining.

Originally written by Mark Boal with a rewrite by Chandor, Triple Frontier is a thriller set in the notorious border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil where the Iguazu and Parana rivers converge. This is a film that Katherine Bigelow once planned to direct, and which at one time Tom Hanks and Will Smith and Johnny Depp circled, so it has always had its fans.

Wait a minute, Amt Schumer? They're making fat Barbie movies now?

Schumer as Barbie? Wtf. Maybe if Barbie had a fat friend. Hathaway sucks as Barbie also. She don't have the curves. Maybe Brooklyn Decker or A Daddario.

The whole point to the movie is someone who looks like Shumer is born in Barbieland and doesn't fit in.

I like the idea. Sad she's not doing it.

I think Barbi is known for having large plastic tits and no ass. Sounds like the role of a lifetime for Hathaway.
