I post all kinds of genres news and trailers in here, why should Geostorm be different? Personally, I'm also a sucker for big-budget disaster movies.

C'mon man, who doesn't like a good disaster movie?

You didn't enjoy Twister and Dante's Peak back in the day?

I just wanted to give Shadow hell.
I do recall loving Dante's Peak and Twister. Redbox gets my business because of these kinds of movies

Full Trailer for Gerard Butler's Disaster Pic GEOSTORM

Saw this with Spider-Man, was kind of amazed how cheap and campy it looked. It's nothing new or smart, so you'd expect a bit more with the visuals. The trailer gave away enough to make it feel like a retread of every disaster movie from the last 20 years, and that song choice was baffling.

I like me some good disaster flicks too but this doesn't seem to be much better than Sci-fi network stuff.

The last one, which was absolute shit, came out in 2010.

It may be the most inconsistent movie series of all time.

Quentin Tarantino Prepping New Movie Tackling Manson Murders

KITYyhN.png

Quentin Tarantino is quietly starting to put together his latest project, and is talking to A-list actors for what is promising to be a unique take on the Manson Family murders.

The project, whose title is unknown, was written by Tarantino, who would also direct. Harvey and Bob Weinstein, who have produced and executive produced the previous Tarantino films, are involved, sources tell THR.

WME is said to be in the early stages of shopping the project to studios to co-finance and co-distribute the venture. The move apes the way Tarantino and the Weinsteins made the filmmaker’s 2009 movie Inglourious Basterds, which had Universal Studios as a financial and distributing partner.

Sources say that Tarantino is putting the finishing touches on the script and that Brad Pitt, who worked with the filmmaker on Basterds, and Jennifer Lawrence have been approached. Studios could receive the package after Labor Day, according to one source. The plan is to shoot in 2018, possibly in the summer.

Script details are fuzzy but one of the stories centers on Sharon Tate, the actress and wife of director Roman Polanski who was murdered by Manson and his followers in 1969.

Jaume Collet-Serra Frontrunner to Direct SUICIDE SQUAD 2

5Mlnrh7.jpg

The Shallows Jaume Collet-Serra has emerged as frontrunner choice to direct Suicide Squad 2, the next installment of the 2016 Warner Bros DC film that grossed $745 million worldwide. The studio looked at a number of filmmakers — Mel Gibson among them — but sources said the studio is focused on Collet-Serra to take the reins of a franchise that has Will Smith, Margot Robbie back in the ensemble.

The original, written and directed by David Ayer, was about a group of incorrigible jailbirds with special skills who were conscripted to fight terrible villains with the idea the heroes were expendable. The first film wasn’t a favorite of the fanboy crowd, but it a big global financial hit for the studio that left no doubt of future installments.

Collet-Serra, the Spanish director who broke into Hollywood with the genre hit Orphan and followed with the hits Non-Stop and The Shallows and has upcoming the 2018 Liam Neeson starrer The Commuter.

The director is in high demand and recently became attached to Annapurna’s Waco, a drama scripted by Zero Dark Thirty’s Mark Boal and Kubo and the Two Strings’ Marc Haimes about the 1993 standoff between the FBI and Texas state law enforcement and the David Koresh-led Branch Davidians that turned the sleepy town of Elk, just outside of Waco, into a battle zone. A 51-day standoff ended with 76 people dead as the cult’s compound was engulfed by a raging fire.

Joe Pesci Joins Martin Scorsese's THE IRISHMAN; Harvey Keitel and Bobby Cannavale in Talks

Martin Scorsese is putting the band back together. Joe Pesci has officially joined Al Pacino (whose deal is currently being finalized) and Robert De Niro in Scorsese’s Jimmy Hoffa disappearance film The Irishman. Deadline reports that Harvey Keitel and Bobby Cannavale are also in talks.

The Irishman will mark the first time Pacino and Scorsese will have worked together and the first time all the Italian greats are on the big screen together. The film begins shooting next month in and around New York and will continue through December.

Pesci’s involvement comes after the actor said no multiple times (some say about 50); a deal was just sealed this week. He will portray Russell Bufalino, a Mafia boss out of Pennsylvania who has been long suspected of having a hand in the Hoffa’s disappearance. Pesci and Scorsese have done three films together.

Producers of The Irishman are expected to be Fabrica’s Gaston Pavlovich, Jane Rosenthal, Scorsese and Emma Tillinger Koskoff. Also on board: Scorsese’s longtime collaborators Ellen Lewis (casting director) and Thelma Schoonmaker (editor). The film is expected to get a small theatrical release to qualify for Oscar.

Saw went up to Saw7, 'Jigsaw' will be the 8th.

Saw 3 was when the series embraced the accusations that the first two movies were torture porn, and it actually became torture porn.

The first one is good IMO. The second was ok. After that they start to blend together, and I only really remember the traps/devices.

Quentin Tarantino Courting Margot Robbie to Play Sharon Tate in His New Movie

5inaNZq.jpg

Word has gotten out that Quentin Tarantino’s next film will be a drama revolving around the Manson Family murders. Deadline has heard that Tarantino met with Margot Robbie to potentially play Sharon Tate, the actress wife of director Roman Polanski who was slain in 1969 in a brutal murder whose savagery shocked the country.

Deadline also heard that Samuel L. Jackson likely also will play a lead in the film, not a surprise since he is to Tarantino what Clarence Clemons was to Bruce Springsteen. A report in THR posited Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds star Brad Pitt (and Deadline hears he’s being courted to play the detective investigating the murder) as well as possibly Jennifer Lawrence.

Clearly word of this has gotten out before Tarantino was ready, but every project by the writer-director is major news. No one is confirming anything at this point, and no roles have been promised yet. Robbie will reprise in Suicide Squad 2, which now is courting Jaume Collet-Serra to direct at Warner Bros, and she starred in and produced I, Tonya, playing disgraced Olympic figure skater Tonya Harding.

Nobody has read the new script, so all this is a bit liquid at the moment. Let's just hope Tarantino watermarks the scripts this time before showing them to his potential cast. The film will shoot next summer.
