Joseph Gordon-Levitt Confirms SANDMAN Talks; Hints at Plot

Joseph-Gordon-Levitt-Confirms-Sandman-Talks-Dragonlord.jpg

While Warner Bros. has yet to officially announce a Sandman movie, Joseph Gordon-Levitt has confirmed rumors of his involvement in the project. After news broke yesterday that Gordon-Levitt was negotiating to star in and possible direct a Sandman movie, Gordon-Levitt shared some additional details on the project via Twitter.

Providing a hint on what story arc the movie may follow, Gordon-Levitt tweeted, “Ladies and gentlemen, I’m incredibly honored to be working with David Goyer, Warner Bros, and @neilhimself on SANDMAN. #Prelude”

When a fan asked if Sandman was a super hero or villain, Gordon-Levitt responded, “Ah, that’s quite a question…” Gordon-Levitt’s answer certainly suggests that the movie will follow Morpheus’ ambiguous nature in the comic books and not try to turn him into a super hero for the masses.

Weinsteins Planning SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE, ROUNDERS Sequels

33v0zv6.jpg

The Weinstein boys are back at Miramax. Colony Capital principal Tom Barrack Jr and The Weinstein Company co-chairmen Harvey and Bob Weinstein have set an alliance that will exploit the creative properties in the library that the brothers left behind when they exited Disney. The deal will span 20 years and multiple titles for films, TV series and live stage productions.

The new venture will get off the ground quickly with sequels to the Best Picture Oscar winner Shakespeare In Love and Rounders, and they will develop series transfers of Good Will Hunting and Flirting With Disaster. They will also shepherd a development library that includes The Alibi, a comedy scripted by Stephen Colbert about a service that cleans up messes and creates cover stories for cheating spouses, and The Ninth Life Of Louis Drax, a script that was being developed by the late Anthony Minghella and Sydney Pollack.

i cannot tell you how much FUCK YEAH! (though not even De Niro could replace Teddy KGB)

You're going to cry real tears before this movie is over.
The only reason it has any credibility is Matt Damon.

John Dahl or no John Dahl, if Ed Norton does it, it will be fucking legit. Lest we forget, many a year hath passed since his unfortunate passing on Death to Smoochy II.

Not because of his acting (he is amazing in that Droid commercial :D ), but because Damon rarely involves himself in a bad movie.

First Official Trailer for DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES

Dawn-Apes-First-Official-Image-Dragonlord.jpg

20th Century Fox has released the first trailer for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The trailer is the same footage that was shown at the 2013 International Comic-Con which includes glimpses at post-collapse human cities in addition to human characters battling apes in the streets, before we get the big money shot of Caesar and his army, clad in war paint and ready for a fight. Directed by Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Let Me In), the film stars Jason Clarke, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Andy Serkis, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Judy Greer (Anung Un Rama's sweetheart), and Toby Kebbell. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes opens on July 11, 2014.

Synopsis: A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species.

Joaquin Phoenix Wanted for BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Villain Role
(Posted first by Philippou4life in the BvS thread)

BANDEAUJOAQUINPHOENIX.jpg

Warner Bros. and director Zack Snyder are aiming very, very high for the villain role in the upcoming Man of Steel follow-up Batman vs. Superman. With the casting of Ben Affleck as an older, weathered Batman, the studio turned plenty of heads, and they recently tapped Gal Gadot to play Wonder Woman in what is likely the first of many feature film appearances by the female superhero. Directly after the release of Man of Steel, fans assumed that Snyder and Co. would be bringing iconic Superman villain Lex Luthor into the mix for the follow-up, and indeed Easter Eggs hidden in Man of Steel pointed to Luthor

ARGO Scribe Chris Terrio to Rewrite BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN

Chris-Terrio-Batman-vs-Superman-Dragonlord.jpg

Warner Bros. is bringing Argo writer Chris Terrio into the Batman-Superman universe. The Oscar-winning writer has been brought in to write a draft of the Man of Steel follow-up, the untitled Batman-Superman movie. Terrio has a strong relationship with the studio and the film's star Ben Affleck. Affleck directed and starred in Argo, which won last year's best picture Oscar for Warners.

Batman-Superman, which opens July 17, 2015, has already filmed a few exterior scenes in the fall, but principal photography begins in early 2014 in Michigan and is expected to shoot through August. David Goyer wrote the screenplay but sources say Terrio has been brought in to get the script in shape before filming begins. Goyer has been tied up with a number of other DC Comics titles including Sandman.

Brad Pitt to Reunite with Tom Cruise in GO LIKE HELL?

Interview-with-a-Vampire-Cruise-Pitt-Dragonlord.jpg

Brad Pitt might be re-teaming with Tom Cruise for their first feature together since 1994’s Interview With the Vampire. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Pitt is being courted to star alongside Cruise in Go Like Hell, Fox’s racing movie based on Go Like Hell: Ford, Ferrari and Their Battle for Speed and Glory at Le Mans, written by A. J. Baime. Cruise is attached to portray car designer Carroll Shelby in the project, which has Joseph Kosinski (Oblivion) in the director’s chair.

Lucas Foster and Alex Young are producing the true story of the competition between the Ford Motor Company and Italian sports car designer Enzo Ferrari, which culminated at the 1966 Le Mans race. Pitt was attached to star in the project when it had Michael Mann on board as director back in 2009. He remained interested in the project and has had talks with the new team. With Kosinski supervising the writing -- brothers Jez and John-Henry Butterworth have written a new draft -- a new script is in the actor’s hands.
