Emmy Winner Sterling K. Brown Joins the Cast of BLACK PANTHER

Emmy winner Sterling K. Brown has joined the cast of Marvel Studios’ Black Panther in the role of N’Jobu, a figure from T’Challa aka Black Panther’s past.

Brown recently won an Emmy Award and is Golden Globe-nominated for his portrayal of Christopher Darden in The People V. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story. The veteran stage and screen actor also garnered Screen Actors Guild and NAACP Image award nominations for the role as well as for the critically acclaimed TV show This Is Us.

Directed by Ryan Coogler (Fruitvale Station, Creed), Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman in the title role alongside Michael B. Jordan, Forest Whitaker, Lupita Nyong’o, Angela Bassett, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, and Florence Kasumba. The film arrives in theaters on February 16, 2018.

MOONLIGHT's Trevante Rhodes Joins Shane Black's THE PREDATOR

Trevante Rhodes, one of the stars of Moonlight, has joined the cast of Shane Black's The Predator, 20th Century Fox's reboot of the alien action movie series.

Rhodes joins Boyd Holbrook, who is leading an ensemble that also includes Olivia Munn. Black is directing the project and wrote the script with Fred Dekker.

Plot details are being kept under wraps. Rhodes will play the best friend of Holbrook's character; both are said to be ex-Marines. A shooting start later this winter is being planned.

Rhodes is one of the breakout stars of Moonlight, A24's drama that itself is a breakout this awards season. Rhodes plays a young gay man who comes of age in drug-addled Miami. The movie has garnered six Golden Globe nominations, including one for best picture, going into this weekend.

Rhodes recently joined Chris Hemsworth and Michael Pena in Horse Soldiers, a war drama being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Black Label Media. He also stars on the Tyler Perry show If Loving You Is Wrong, which airs on OWN.

Keegan-Michael Key Joins Shane Black's THE PREDATOR

Keegan-Michael Key, best known for Comedy Central’s cult comedy series Key and Peele, is in final negotiations to join the growing cast of The Predator, Twentieth Century Fox’s reboot of the sci-fi action franchise.

Shane Black is spearheading the project, having written the script with Fred Dekker and sitting in the director’s chair. A late February start is being eyed.

Boyd Holbrook is leading what is described as an ensemble cast that includes Moonlight breakout Trevante Rhodes and Olivia Munn.

Holbrook and Rhodes are ex-Marines while Munn is a scientist. Key will play a man who teams up with Holbrook and Rhodes to fight the creatures.

Key is a multi-Emmy nominee for his work on Key and Peele, the sketch show he headlined with Jordan Peele. The comedian has been making in-roads into movies, making appearances in 2015’s Tomorrowland and Vacation while also starring in 2016’s comedy Keanu. He was last seen in Fox’s comedy Why Him?

Ralph Fiennes, Hugh Laurie Join Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly in HOLMES AND WATSON

Ralph Fiennes (Harry Potter film series) and Hugh Laurie (House, The Night Manager) may find their next gig to be anything by elementary.

The Oscar-nominated Fiennes and the Emmy-winning Laurie have joined Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly in Holmes and Watson, Sony’s comedic take on literature’s great detective, Sherlock Holmes.

In the third team-up for Ferrell and Reilly (Talladega Nights and Step Brothers were the previous partnerships), Ferrell is starring as Holmes and Reilly is playing his erstwhile sidekick, Dr. Watson.

Character details are being kept locked up in the basement of 221B Baker St., but sources say Fiennes and Laurie will slip on the shoes of two beloved characters from the Holmes oeuvre.

Etan Cohen (Get Hard) wrote and is directing the movie, which recently began shooting in London.

First Look and Synopsis for Ducan Jones' Sci-Fi Thriller MUTE

Set in the near-future, Leo (Alexander Skarsgård) is a bartender living in the pulsing city of Berlin. Because of a childhood accident, Leo lost the ability to speak and the only good thing in his life is his beautiful girlfriend Naadirah (Seyneb Saleh). When she vanishes without a trace, Leo's search for her takes him deep into the city's seedy underbelly. A pair of wise-cracking American surgeons (Paul Rudd and Justin Theroux) are the only recurring clue and Leo is forced to take on this teeming underworld in order to find his love.

The Netflix original film is directed by Duncan Jones and written by Jones and Michael Robert Johnson. Stuart Fenegan serves as producer and Charles J.D. Schissel and Trevor Beattie serve as executive producers. The film will launch in all territories where Netflix is available in 2017.

First Look at Two New Characters from Pixar's CARS 3

“McQueen is not the young hotshot anymore, the kid he was back then in Cars 1,” says first-time Pixar director Brian Fee, a storyboard artist on the first two Cars films and the man entrusted by story guru/Cars whisperer John Lasseter to take the wheel. “He’s in the middle of his life, and as an athlete, that’s getting up there. You have your whole life ahead of you, yet your career is starting to show its age. He’s looking in the mirror and realizing, ‘I’m 40 years old,’ and dealing with the fact that the thing that you love more than anything else, you might not be able to do forever.”

It doesn’t help that a new, faster generation of racers is eager to leave the rehabilitating Lightning in the dusty past. Armie Hammer joins the Cars voice family as the most vocal head of this new wave of tech-savvy drivers — meet the villainous Jackson Storm.

Fee explains, “Jackson was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Everything comes easy to him, and everything about him says he’s faster, so much so that we’ve designed him so that even when he’s standing next to McQueen, McQueen looks old.” Technologically, he’s lightyears ahead of Lightning, a legitimate reflection of the actual years that have passed in the real world since our introduction to the first Cars in 2006. After more than a decade, shiny new rival roadster Jackson represents the peak of real-time innovation.

Yet there is a glimmer of hope for both the redemption of twentysomething honor and Lighting himself: New trainer Cruz Ramirez, voiced by Cristela Alonzo.

Cruz may be on Jackson’s side of the age gap, but she’s on Lightning’s side of the conflict. As a lifelong fan of McQueen, she’s optimistic, sunny, fierce, and friendly — and now, she’s his new, younger coach, coming to Lightning’s aid with stars in her eyes when he shows up at the Rust-eze Racing Center. “Whereas others like Jackson would look at McQueen and dump him, Cruz isn’t like that at all. She’s the most optimistic person in the world and wants to do anything to help,” says Fee, who was sold on Alonzo’s voice partly from her short-lived ABC series but primarily from her stand-up comedy specials. PITCH PERFECT 3 Begins Filming, First Look at the Cast

Pitch Perfect 3 isn’t slated to hit theaters until December, but its cast has already assembled as a “team.” Anna Kendrick, who plays Beca in the sing-along franchise, shared a first-look at the stars of Pitch Perfect 3 .

Rebel Wilson (Fat Amy), Chrissie Fit (Flo), Shelley Regner (Ashley), Ester Dean (Cynthia Rose), Hana Mae Lee (Lilly), Brittany Snow (Chloe), Anna Camp (Aubrey) and Kelley Jakle (Jessica) were all smiles in the photo, which Kendrick circulated with her 10 million Instagram fans (see below). She captioned the snap with a single word: “team.”

Producers remain tight-lipped on the storyline for Pitch Perfect 3, which Trish Sie will direct.The third installment is set for release Dec. 22 by Universal.

Ryan Gosling Reteam with Director Damien Chazelle for Neil Armstrong Biopic

Oscar-nominated director Damien Chazelle and his La La Land star Ryan Gosling are officially set to reteam on Chazelle’s Neil Armstrong biopic First Man for Universal Pictures.

Chazelle is directing a script by Oscar-winning Spotlight scribe Josh Singer. Previously reports said that Gosling was the choice for the role but at the time a script was still being written and no formal offer had been delivered.

Sources now tell Variety that a deal is closed for Gosling to star and it is likely that the film will shoot in early 2017.

The pic is based on James Hansen’s biography “First Man: A Life Of Neil A. Armstrong” and tells the story of NASA’s mission to land a man on the moon, focusing on Neil Armstrong and the years 1961-1969. A visceral, first-person account, the movie will explore the sacrifices and the cost — on Armstrong and on America — of one of the most dangerous space missions in history.

Willem Dafoe Joins the Cast of MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS

Willem Dafoe is ready to ride the Orient Express. The actor is joining the star-studded ensemble cast of Kenneth Branagh's Murder on the Orient Express.

Branagh is directing and starring as the investigator Hercule Poirot, who must solve a murder case aboard a train while being surrounded by duplicitous passengers. Penelope Cruz recently joined the cast, which also includes Michelle Pfeiffer, Daisy Ridley, Michael Pena, Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Josh Gad, Leslie Odom Jr. and Tom Bateman.

Dafoe will play Mr. Hardman, a passenger on the train who says he sells typewriting ribbons, but may have a deeper tie to the murder victim.

Ridley Scott, Simon Kinberg, Mark Gordon and Branagh are producing the movie, which began production in November in London. Michael Schaefer, Aditya Sood and Judy Hofflund also are producing.

The Fox film is an adaptation of the classic Agatha Christie story. Michael Green (Blade Runner sequel) wrote the script. Steve Asbell is overseeing for Fox.

Sony's UNCHARTED Movie Just Moved One Step Closer To Happening

Joe Carnathan — the screenwriter of The Grey and director of the upcoming Bad Boys sequel — has announced that he has completed his script for Sony's Uncharted movie. "Done and Dusted," he wrote. "Now the REAL work begins. If there's a more monstrously cool action script in Hollywood right now, I wanna read it, 'cuz this thing is a BEAST."

Though Uncharted was removed from Sony's movie release schedule back in September, the studio never gave up on the project. A month later (October), the studio hired Shawn Levy (Real Steel) to direct and revealed that filming is set to begin in early 2017.

New Images of the Zords from POWER RANGERS Released

Fans and Press who are attending CES will have the chance to test out the custom Power Rangers: Zords Rising VR experience. As the name suggests, it's given fans the best look at the Battle Zords thus far.

The Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops, Mastodon, Sabertooth Tiger, and Pterodactyl are all present in the new images, and they look incredible. The best news is that this is only a scaled down version since it's in VR, so they should look even more impressive in the upcoming film. Players actually have the chance to get in the Zords during the VR experience, and can manipulate the controls in the cockpit.
