Neither because both were legitimate tough match-ups for their opponents.

The answer is Matt Serra

Lol are you trolling? Weidman had several defenses after winning the belt. That alone takes him out of such a category.

Do your homework, fool.
Losing one fight in your entire career doesn't mean you're not seen as dominant. He had even avenged that single loss, crushing Hughes in the rematch. Literally everyone thought he was a dominant force at ww at the time.

At the moment, Cody Garbrandt is in that Buster Douglas territory.

Hell no. Fujita was a damn good fighter that almost KOd prime Fedor, finished Shamrock, and gave Cro Cop a good fight all AFTER beating Kerr.

Fujita was an average fighter and while Fedor is probably the goat HW he was always beatable and had holes din his game. He wouldn't have looked the same in the post Strikeforce UFC HW division after they soaked up all of the talent.

Rhonda armbars a half dozen amateurs and she's being compared to the youngest ever unified HW boxing champ lol

U cant be serious. A "dominant" force? It was his 1st title defence.

Was it an upset? Sure, Serra was realistically a LW.

Was it the GOAT upset? Absolutely not.

Do u know that Kerr (loss against Fujita) was actually FEARED? Jus´like Tyson. A MACHINE.

Are u aware of that?

He'd already bulldozed through most of the division by the time he even got the belt. It wasn't like it is now where anyone marketable got fast tracked.

By that time,he had already been schooled by Hughes, so he wasnt realistically deemed as someone invincible a la Tyson vs Douglas.

This is the key word in the OP: TYSON.

Michael Bisping. People have foolishly let his Rockhold and Silva win distort a career full of mid-level wins. The guy got fucking blown out of the water anytime he took on a top level striker and had a deserved rep as pillow-fisted. One goofing off and post PED Silva win and a goofing off and glass-chinned Rockhold win, people rewrite history and pretend this guy was a threat to the top guys. Watch UFC 100, where Bisping runs for his life against a prime Hendo until finally put out stiff. That was Bisping against top level guys. The UFC was just very strategic with marketing him because he was English and to Bisping' s credit he played it safe and never lost to mid-level opponents. He was often unimpressive though, such as being dropped by Sinosic, Rivera, and struggling mightily with a Thales Leites who Gegard Mousasi toyed with.

The biggest career reputation saver was the UFC scrapping Mousasi vs Bisping and giving Bisping Anderson Silva. Mousasi would have embarrassed him and he likely retires with no Silva or Rockhold win, and another uncompetitive loss against a top guy.

Fujita was a good fighter, but c’mon.

First, Kerr’s blood sugar crashes from punching Fujita, and he loses by gassing out.
Then Fujita slips on a banana peel in the opening seconds of the fight, and surrenders to Coleman. (While other finalist Igor V had to fight two grueling matches against Goodridge and Saku)

Later, Ken Shamrock gets tired from punching Fujita (“Petey, my heart!”), and Petey throws in the towel for him.

I love Pride, but this is some shady stuff...

Problem is that Crocop had already lost, so he realistically didnt have that Tyson mystique of invincibility...
Anderson lost a couple too. Crocop had just won the Open Weight Grand Prix and looked like he may have caught up to Fedor, he was improving with every fight at that time. It's not a perfect comparison, but Crocop looked like a shark going in to a minnow tank.

Wasn't Dillashaw's upset over Barao closer in odds (to Douglas/Tyson) than either of those other fights?

Holly Holm or Chris Weidman?

Both hold major upsets of monster champs. Both lost their titles and haven't done much since.

Thoughts? Any other nominees?
The Chris has the 2nd most MW title defenses in the history of MMA (PRIDE and UFC) and 2nd longest MW title reign in the history of MMA (PRIDE and UFC).
You should check yourself before you wreck yourself.
