MMA VETS!! OR THOSE WHO CURRENTLY TRAIN AND PRACTICE MMA Not sure where to post this... But I need advice.I am an idiot with fighting in general. I have ZERO training in formal.MMA of any kind. Bit of background on me: Im 28 years old. Im 6ft1in, but my arms are stupid long and my reach is 80in. My current weight is between 225-235. My background is strictly weightlifting with a bit of power lifting. I am slightly stronger than average. My cardio is non existent after a couple of minutes. I really would like to get my feet wet in a discipline, but I am hearing all sorts of conflicting things. I live in SW Florida, so BJJ is huge here. I have no desire to compete. I honestly just want to switch up my training regime. I have been 8 pack shredded, single digit body fat at 200 pounds, so I have no problem with the dedication or mental discipline I am sure this requires. I just want to switch things up, improve my cardio and be able to defend myself and thise close to me if necessary. So my question is this: Were you me, assuming my physicality holds any merit, where would you start? BJJ? Boxing? Kickboxing? Treadmill? Go away?
