Very unfortunate. As fans need to respect the risks the fighters take. While precautions taken still dangerous.

This is not good. We are starting to see more and more mma deaths in a short period of time and if it keeps up like this Congress will take notice and maybe get the ball rolling on banning MMA sports. The Problem is that since MMA is going mainstream you got a lot of Podunk promotions starting up and not taking precautionary measures of protecting MMA fighters such as having shitty referees etc.

Promotions with shit safety standards were always there, MMA isn't far removed from its "early days" and safety standards have improved over time if anything. I think it's just that there is more MMA now going on than ever before, so more risk.
