Mitrione talks about Fedor vs Sonnen and fighting Fedor.

I think the final will be fedor vs mitrione 2. But this time it will end with Fedor raising his hand and mitrione on the ground

It was a long time ago...

But Chael, no disrespect here, his sub defense is no bueno.
It was long time ago Chael had no sub defence, he is doing pretty much jiu jitsu these days, training in the gi and competing.

Yeah he does...but did that help him against Tito?

I think people forget Fedor's shot chin.

When he fought Frank - he got tagged with a light shot and nearly went down. He did recover fairly quickly, and Frank got overzealous, but if Chael lands a few of those shots - Fedor goes down fast.
Furthermore - I think Chael is actually a bit taller than Fedor - with better reach.

Anyways - the point is, I wouldn't be surprised if Chael were to KO Fedor - that tells you what I think of Fedor's current chin.
Also - I don't care how many miles Fedor runs - in his recent fights, he breathes damn heavy after 1 or 2 rounds - way more so than when he fought in his prime. His endurance is suspect at this point - that's another advantage for Chael.

Having said that - if Fedor lands a few clean power shots - there's no one in UFC or elsewhere that won't go down.

Basically - with Fedor - it's all akin to casino, but cards are still stacked against Fedor due to his decline.

His punch landed in the first fight, Matt's was just much more powerful

Nah - Fedor landed a shot, yes - but on the shoulder. The fact that Matt flew back tells you everything you need to know about Fedor's power - but accuracy was the key in that fight. Matt landed a weaker shot but on the chin. Fedor landed a more powerful shot but on the shoulder.

Fedor's chin is definitely shot. He went from never being knocked down in 10 years to to getting floored in his last 3 fights. With that said Sonnen isnt exactly a power puncher. This doesnt mean he wont be able to hurt Fedor, but Sonnen hasnt stopped someone with his hands in god knows how long.. 8 years? I think Fedor's biggest threat will be the wrestling and grinding against the cage. Ill take even a shot chinned Fedor in a shoot out with the heartless Sonnen any day. The real test for Fedor will be from his back, scrambling and wrestling at high intensity for the first round. It will be interesting to see if the old dog can still do it.

I really hope Fedor can beat Sonnen. Also, gotta love Meathead. He gives such a good intervew.

I think chael will have a good chance to win this fight,
i mean he s by definition not even human but a PED cyborg
as i remember he got popped for every ped known to mankind including
artifical oxygen carriers(for example nanoparticles such as perflurcarbon)
So technicly he doesnt even have the limitiation of the 20 nanoseconds for the iron particles in his blood cells oxydize. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_substitute#Perfluorocarbon_based
according to us its used by "fearless of health risks individuals" https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11719891
Fedor might as well fight a guy with two robotarms so thats the truth sonnen will take everything he can get his hands on to win this, that said a hail mary punch can decide the fight and since fedors chin is so shot it will be a 50/50 coin toss if he doesnt fight smart.
I personally see this as 70/30 for fedor since he showed some grappling and cage defense skills in the fight with frank mir and also just didnt panic into immidiatly throwing haymakers as soon as he recovered so his fight iq seems to be coming back.

In last couple Fedor fights I was sceptical about Fedor chances but now I really think he can beat a 40 years old MW.

Thank you for this, great insights from Matt. Is there a link to the full interview ? It cuts off at an interesting point where Matt is going in depth on how Fedor was analysing him in the cage.....

Fedor's chin is gone and his body is shot, but he's still a dog when it comes down to it. There's absolutely zero quit in him, he will go until he can't. Chael doesn't have that. The guy is a repeat offender and when it gets tough he will give in before he gets hurt too much.

Fedor lost Matt won stop being a douche and trying to discredit Mitrione.
