I just want to say thank you to all of you who served.

US Navy,

2 years @ BUD/S then 2 years at a separate amphibious command other than the teams. No rockstar deployment. Complete waste of my time.

How does it work getting commissioned in your state? Here in FL, you go through boot camp at Jackson and then you do some bastardized form of OCS that's spread out over 18 months (unless you're lucky enough to get a federal slot at Benning).

your thoughts on field exercises in Grafenwoehr, or even worse Hohenfels?

guarding ammo at the AHA in Hohenfels, for 8 hour shifts in Winter was straight phenomenal.

i was at baumholder in Germany, the rock playas. We literally had early 1930s german SS barracks and apartments for housing, swastikas in the bricks and everything. we had one in our BN HQ bldg hahahahah, i would post it, but that's probably ban worth or something

edit: it was 2 BD, 1st AD when i got there, 2-6 IN BN. but it cased colors the week after, and we became a brand new unit, 3-4 IN in 170th IBCT. we fell under no division, it was weird, just V Corp outta Heidelberg or whatever (before USAREUR moved to Wiesbaden i believe).

then i went to Ft Bliss after, to 2 BD, 1st AD and 2-6 IN, i shit you not. extremely random, unit was then non deployable, but went to the field for like 4 months of the year testing new equipment (White Sands, NM). There were 3 guys in the WHOLE BN under SGT that had combat patches.....I was one of them haha. The other two also came from my unit in Germany

I commissioned through ROTC at college. Got in on a full ride from the Army. My last year I got shanghaied by some CA Guard recruiter and promised a 10 grand signing bonus and a spot in an airborne unit.

Didn't get either. No bonus and stuck in a leg unit but I did get my Intel spot, but it took almost a year to send me to BOLC. Was a huge clusterfuck.

Then MSG Jafee(SPL?) The lady in charge of bonuses, got brought up on fraud charges and people who got bonuses all got flagged cause she gave out improper amounts for stuff so I never got mine.

Is that where those Humvees were destroyed recently?

until the gonorrhea pops up and starts to spread
On average we were too old to be spreading the clap. Unless it can be transmitted via checkers. Or cribbage.
