Miesha Tate explains why she’d favor Conor McGregor in fight against GSP

She subscribes to the logic that an active fighter has a massive advantage over an inactive one, see her comment about Cyborg still fighting while Ronda and herself are not (regarding a potential Ronda vs Cyborg fight).

Honestly it's not a bad logic although some fighters can come back looking great after a long layoff, most don't.
 
well last time we saw GSP he got his ass kicked by hendricks and retired. I'd also favor mcgregor

No one really knows how good GSP is going to be, he looked kinda fat in recent pictures

but yeah 2009 ish GSP would impregnate Conor with the top control

Tapping to strike is the same as tapping in a submission....you are in a position where you have lost....even without the tap, the fight would have been stopped...quitting was referring when conor gave up and shot for a takedown against nate...so he didn't look bad by being potentially beat on his feet.
 
I highly doubt GSP would come back if he has declined. And if he hasn't, he would take Conor down and absolutely smother him on the ground. If it stays standing for too long though, Conor could always win by TKO.

GSP is too fast and strong. Conor gassed against Nate. GSP will turn up the pressure and cook him a lot faster.
 
meisha is delusional. i might buy into an argument that mcgregor can make things difficult for GSP, but beat GSP? even the faded GSP who fought hendricks would put too much pressure on mcgregor and once he got his hands on mcgregor, it would be over.

Exactly, and the Hogan style leg drop at that. No way in HELL Conor beats Georges. GSP is a fkn animal, would TD Conor hard as FOOK, pin him there every round and beat him down or even sub him. Too powerful & much bigger.
 
Conor could knock him out.

Smart money says Conor is on his back for at least 23 minutes of that fight - most likely ending in a submission round 3.

Miesha isn't overly intelligent. GSP while being far past his prime, unless he's taken a huge step back still takes Conor down with ease round after round. Prime GSP absolutely kills the little Irishman.
