my coach has these tiny mitts that are the size of his hands basically hes had since the early 90s i love them vs normal sized mitts when doing pad work what type of mitts do you prefer ? i see smaller mitts online but not quite as small as ones he used

also i see alot of new things lately people are now using sticks instead of pads or these racket mitts iv been boxing since 2005 im26 now and im curious if these tools are worth it

Last time I bought focus mitts, I went to get the large ones that come down your forearm a bit. I wanted to work knees and kicks without sacrificing the speed for good boxing combos. The guy in the store convinced me to get the really small ones instead and I am glad that he did. I found that the smaller mitts force you to keep your accuracy thus most of your technique, especially when you get tired. If I start with the larger focus mitts and then move to the smaller ones, I realise how sloppy I had gotten. If I start with the smaller mitts and then go to the larger mitts, then I have no problem.

exactly smaller mitts work faster and much better for accuracy

i bought the ringside micro mitts and they are not bad.

there was a review thread of it on here:

my coach has a pair of mini boon mitts (square shaped) and it forces you to be super accurate.

the paddles/sticks are another tool and are meant, if i am not mistaken, to work on speed and accuracy, not power.
