McGregor's boxing is worse than I thought

i would not bet on a kayo or over under with boxing, i'd bet strictly on who'll win. Mayweather doesn't have any real killer instinct, never has aside from the corrales fight when he was hungry, and maybe the hernandez fight, that was a long time ago. Ali had a decent punch for a heavyweight but he stopped even trying to hurt people after 75, he was shot too, but it's crazy how a guy who had a respectable kayo ratio in the first half of his career had an abysmal one for the last 1/4.

From what I can tell the books are in a vulnerable spot, but one they're probably not too worried about. VERY exposed if a Conor win does somehow happen. This is a fight shere the bulk of tickets is coming in on one guy while the bigger money slips are coming in on the other. Meaning sharps are hitting Floy for large amounts but there's less sharps, while the public is slamming Conor's line with smaller bets but way more tickets.

Basically books are in a position where they need Floyd to win or they'll be losing shit tons of money. Billions, I would assume, a lot of fucking money either way. That being said pretty good spot to need a guy to not lose who never loses. Casuals are eating this shit up, I'm not even sue the sharps come in and hit Floyds line and pop it back up, so many Conor fans and Floy haters out there, its' a freaskshow but the spectacle of the Great White MMA hope pulling off one of the biggest upsets in boxing history, is causing a loads of cash to be thrown on Conor.

This shit is cray.

ya, it's a generalization but it's a pretty common thing, i've seen it, not just mma, but ma too. It's not even the lack of self control, it's the stupid shit they do without meaning to because they are panicky and stiff. I never got on with them, never. Didn't like working with guys who'd sock the shit out of you after the bell rang as they waited for you to relax, i didn't like that shit, you do? fine, have at it.

it would be one fix that would be worth the take, but knowing how big floyd's ego is, even though he loves money, he would not ever even look like he is losing to this guy. other fighters might, but not floyd.

Sarah is in trouble, big trouble
and to think macgoner has plans to fight pac if he ever continue to box, oh well, although pac has lost to that aussie teacher, goodluck with that...

I think McG will just be happy with the purse, fight a couple of more in UFC, then retire with this new found fortune.

If he's got balls, he'll give Aldo a rematch...

Conor's best chance is to just be a bull and smother Floyd use his size and make it rough and ugly and bully floyd on the inside.
Did you mean his best chance is not using his technique that David Haye posted on the #McgregorChallenge? <Moves>

I only bet for personal enjoyment, and Im not smart about it like some others, but I put about $500USD roughly on a Mayweather stoppage to collect $900 which is also roughly about as much as I've won from betting in sum over the last year and a bit so I'd just think of it as a wash if Mayweather doesn't stop him.

I'll probably place around $1600, the same amount I won from Floyd-Pac (65% of my bet) on Floyd once again. If I lose, it's never mine in the first place anyway.

If it gets to evens it'll get my attention, but a big bet on this is like betting on pre season friendlies at soccer.

I chose to go the inside the distance route so if Floyd finishes him or they go to a tech Dec that Floyd wins, or Conor gets himself dq'd, which I did not realize until today Conor losing by dq would cost him over 67mil of his purse or some crazy shit, so that's not happening, I'll win with any of those outcomes/ But I truly believe a legit finish from Floyd will be there for him to take w/o a ton of risk when/if this gets deeper in the fight, so I decided to make the riskier play for a better pay off. I think I'm up to about ~4.5 percent, much more than I usually go, of my bankroll, which is not a giant one, but lets say it won't feel good if it doesnt hit :)).

He looks awkward because he's not very good. He looks awkward because you're used to watching training vids of guys with real skills. This looks like a guy who took a month of boxercise classes.

You're very knowledgeable aren't you?

Clown.

Hey mma dudes. Guess why most people here are posting in a boxing subsection of an mma forum. It isn't because we hate mma.

We all know that media days you aren't going to show off your full gameplan but you do want to look sharp in front of the cameras. If Devon Alexander, Terence Crawford and David haye are turning these clips into a meme, it is probably because it doesn't look very good.

I can watch mma and not have any idea at some of the things being done in the jiu jitsu and grappling aspects but I know a little. But I tend to listen to try and learn. If the guys who watch boxing anytime on tv are seeing flaws in technique calling people sad cunts and clowns isn't really explaining anything

It's pretty much one way traffic on the mma fans taking shots at boxing. Conor may have boxed as a youngster, but followed the mma route and doesn't look as sharp or deceptive as someone who has only trained boxing all their life.

You must realise the deck is stacked towards Floyd. Its highly unlikely that a boxer could jump into the octagon and beat gsp, the sooner people realise that, and don't make absurd statements like "bet your life savings on it" the sooner it will show up who is trolling for funsies and who is an actual fight fan.

He boxes like a Muay Thai fighter....a Muay Thai fighter that mostly kicks people. Not looking good.

Hopefully I can see this fight on the cheap, for some reason a lot of Irish pubs in SF elected not to show this fight. With all the money they could make..Strange.

Conor says Mayweather won't be able to follow his high pace. LMAO!

Even in the open workout videos, Floyd looked much faster, and with a lot bigger volume than him.
What the fuck is he talking about? He couldn't even hit the bag with any sort of power. It was like he was caressing it.

Cotto and cannelo have no reach. I can't think of many fights where floyd didn't have the reach.

Conor's best chance is to just be a bull and smother Floyd use his size and make it rough and ugly and bully floyd on the inside. Try to bend the rules. Hit behind the head. Punch at or before breaks until warned.
And hope Floyd shows up old over night and can't pull the trigger or take shots anymore.

But I think Floyd stops him mid rounds if he wants. But I could see Floyd having fun for 12.
De la Hoya, corrales, Judah don't know anyone else for certain.

I think he looks like a really good TKD point fighter that went full contact and tried to learn some boxing. It is strange that he has his chin out all of the time (Boxing 101 mistake) but he does a lot of shifting (Common in TKD and kicking arts, but advanced in boxing)

Let's go with that. I agree. I just said Muay Thai kick specialist because he stays on the centerline when he punches which makes it much easier to throw a follow-up kick. Where are these "angles" that MMA people keep talking about? He moves his feet to the side without moving his head and punches the exact same spot lol. It's all fancy fluffy bunny moves.

McGregor's punches are selling wolf-tickets.
