Thanks for proving my point that haters will always move goalposts. Also the fact that people are urging DJ to fight TJ a champion in a higher weight class shows that what Conor did by beating a champion in a higher weight class was a lot more impressive than merely defending titles because DJ's title defenses are put on a lesser pedestal than fighting TJ.

You want arguments: Conor has never defended a belt so this thread is silly.

Dunno how I’m a liar. I didn’t read this thread and I didn’t read the first thing you said to me. I have no clue what you’re even talking about.

Calm down buddy, it isn’t that bad.

I'm no lover of Conor, but that's absolutely not true. A calm, composed pressure fighter who is taller than him and has a great chin? No, the best stylistic opponent for Conor is a forward rushing fighter who commits to attacks. He can counter them and pressure back until they wilt from feeling his power.

I don't even think the Diaz brothers are that good. They both lose to good wrestle-boxers 9/10 times. Nate just is not an ideal style matchup for Conor.

I don't have a problem with him not defending the Cage Rage belts, the UFC calls you best answer or you might miss your shot. Understandable.

He should have defend the FW belt before ever attempting to fight for the LW belt. Immediate title shot at a higher weight without defending 1 time was pretty BS. UFC wasn't desperate for a title fight both Eddie and Conor had viable top contenders worthy of the title shot.

I also think he should have defended the FW belt after the fight(s) with Diaz. He could have defended after the loss and then win or lose permanently move up in weight and had the Diaz rematch. The winner of Aldo-Frankie was promised a fight with Conor for the belt and then had that taken away even though Aldo went out there and handily dominated Frankie even better than he did in the first fight.

But he absolutely should be defending the LW belt by now. Conor is healthy and the Floyd fight was 7 months ago, if nothing else he should at least have been scheduled to defend. That is the thing that really bothers me, he has never even been scheduled to defend a belt in the UFC. If you have a title defense but it falls through because of injury or whatever that is understandable as shit happens in this sport, but Conor has never even tried to defend any belt.

You do realize that the talk is about TJ coming down to 125 to fight DJ, right? Not DJ going up to fight at BW.

Even if DJ did want to go up and challenge for the BW title, he has numerous title defenses and is the longtime reigning champion, and a case could be made for him being deserving of a BW fight... so it's actually NOTHING at all like Conor/Alvarez and challenging for the 155 lb strap.

How the fuck is being gifted a title shot "more impressive"?

"I like the fuck out of Conner and he can do no wrong in my eyes. I think he's great! And he has a nice cockprint in his pants, to boot."

Would be more honest and equally worthy of a read. Plus it saves TS some time for other things

Little head movement, poor footwork, zero wrestling, limited takedowns, poor leg kicks, doesn't close the distance fast and who slowly plods forward and blocks punches with his chin... but that's not an ideal opponent for Conor???

Diaz's entire gameplan pretty much revolves around cardio, his chin holding up and winning a battle of attrition.
